Hiya, I've been thinking about dreads a while and thought I'd try it this summer so I've been growing my hair out, it's approaching shoulder length now but then a question formed- how will dreadlocks complicate matters for motorcyclists ? Can anyone with experiance perhaps clarify or someone with theories, I'm wondering if it's possible to fit dreads under a helmet ;x Thanks to anyone reading my post! Garrett
Your dreads will be pretty flimsy for the first few months, but then they'll begin to get a bit harder, I would imagine at that stage youd probably need to get a bigger helmet.
yeah, and i wouldn't even put on your helmet while their in their early stages, cause it wont let the hairs move enough...and then you will most likely need a bigger helmet
you can put the helmet on... it shouldn't affect the locking process by reducing the ability for them to move. wax does that... helmets on the other hand do not. I would think that a helmet would actually speed up the process unless you have it on 24/7
your going to need a bigger helmet. both of my riding helmets are way too small now that i have dreads, theres no way they will fit on my head. good luck
