Did you guys all get feed a load of shit in health class like I was? Some pretty huge exagerations and alot of bold-faced lies went through that class and no one questioned it at least not to the teacher.
actually, in health class, this girl from the clinic came and talked about synesthesia, and made us look at an optical illusion animation... to try to explain acid. and i asked her why, and there was no educational value really. they showed us what happens in your brain on various drugs, but didn't really feed us any propaganda. we did get these really cool flyers with a poster on the back, with pictures of nerves and transmitters and such and cool quotes... i still have mine, they're awesome. it was surprisingly cool.
take what knowledge you can from every situation but always maintain a critical thought proccess. they do feed u a lot of shit in health class and every other class for that matter except maybe math but a lot of it can be useful and enhance your learning capabilities. much like everything else in society public education has much room for improvement but its wat weve got.
Mine was bullshit. It was funny cause our health teacher always preached about tobacco and harrased me when i came back from the bathroom smelling like an ashtray; well later my boy worked at a 7-11 near the high school where the health teacher always came to buy a few cans of dip. He just looked at the teacher like "wtf?" and the teacher was like "yeah, I know. just give it to me . . ." The guy was funny but a pretty closed minded asshole about the facts surround what he taught. I attempted to enlighten him about several reputable studies disproving the propaganda he spewed forth and he just wrote it off like "you silly little stoner . . ." I wasn't even a dick about it trying to humiliate him in class or anything like that. I showed him the papers outside of class and while he did read them, he didn't give them any thought. The only test I ever got 100% on in that class was the one on drugs, along with another stoner in the class. We we're the only ones who got 100% and he was like "Well, Daedalus and Steve were the only people here who scored perfect on the drugs test. Who didn't see that one coming." Also his was the last class I ever took at my high school before I left to go to night school. We went outside and smoked a cigarette with the little machine that shows you all the tar. A fitting end to my career there I think . . .
LOL yes. Last year, force feeding of propaganda was daily. And beacause of this, I lost many friends when I tried pot.
it happens. we leave some behind as we pass through each stage of our journey, but we always gain new as well
Dumbass football player type: "If you do acid, you can become paralyzed." Me: "*giggles* Hey, I really don't think that's..." Dumbass football player type: "NO! It is! It's true, it can paralyze you, it eats away at your spinal cord." Me: "Okay, I'm not gonna argue." Him: "No! It's true!" Me: "Okay." It's sad, cause the kid wasn't trying to fuck with me... like, he seemed seriously concerned and it was almost sad.
we didn't learn anything bad about acid. we learned mostly about coke, crack, heroin, and oddly enough, pcp. every in that health class seemed to be most interested in pcp so the teacher spent most the time talking about it.
