community college then transfer. theres a college for pretty much everyone. and ya better do well on the SAT or ACT
Community college. You still have a year or two though to pull up your GPA to some extent- but community college and then transferring would still probably be your best bet. Everyone can go to college, just which college and the route they get there is different.
Community college is a good way to go to get your gpa up then transfer. Some colleges will take you but put you in general education and allow you to raise your gpa before you can get into the program/school you want (i.e. getting into the college of journalism). Good luck and if you really want to go to college you will find a way.
It might also be worth a chat with the local community (junior) college and ask if a bad HS record or a GED is preferable. I was a HS drop out. I now have graduate degree credits above my BA.
community college is the way to go. if you want it bad enough, you can go to CC and redeem yourself. Im exhibit A!!
your grades are good enough. Im at a school right now that has a 100% acceptance rate so if you got the cash you can go.
How do you figure? If school was free I would assume high admission standards to lower the number of students. In return they won't pay as much to school the kids.
Sorry Rich, but no. Removing tuition costs would have to lower the budget of the schools, reducing the number of students they can accept - making admissions more competitive, requiring higher grades. Lets be honest here: highschool isn't very hard. If you can barely pass that, you should be worried about university. Go pick up a trade.
ya know, a better question could be WHY do you want university? what do you want to do that is made more accessible by such education? You don't seem to be learning for the hell of it, so I'm betting there's a career you are interested in, or the extended adolescence of being a student. (hey it brought us part of the 1960s, I'm not knocking it at all)
I agree with the above poster. Think of what you want to do with your life, you obviously have no moivation for being in school now. Do you just want to go because it is what everyone else is doing? My advice is do some soul searching and get motivated for what you want to do. If you have a dream you can make a plan of what you need to do and you will work hard to accomplish it
come to my suck junior college. its basically an overgrown high school which reeks of jerry falwell style conservatism, but it will take any damn body and its very cheap to attend. (app. 700 per semester, and there are a million different scholarships available for students) you just have to have an act of sixteen, and if its lower than that, you still get in but on probation, which means your gpa can't drop below 1.5 for the first two semesters. there are some really smart, capable teachers, as well, who are stuck in jones county, mississippi.
