A girls feet with a bit of sweat is sexy. But most people think it's gross. Of course, alot of people think barefooting is gross too.

It's not the feet that smell, it's the shoes! Just leave 'em bare.

Actually, it's a combination of phermones, sweat and bacteria that make feet smell. Shoes only create a beneficial environment for the bacteria to grow... *but the fact is that feet smell", regardless of whether or not one wears shoes because feet are always releasing phermones, sweat and always have bacteria present, regardless of what kind of soaps or whatever you use.

I like the pure natural pheremone smell coming from a true barefooter's soles- that very subtle sweet aroma coming straight from the glands, and not the overpowering stench of festering acidic bacterial overgrowth on sweaty shoe-feet. Although I can see how people who also like blue cheese and vinegar might be into it.

I don't necessarily agree with barefoothippie on this. I guess it all comes down to, if the word "smell" is being used in the same sense as "stink." When most people refer to something as "smelling," they usually mean it has a *bad* odor, in other words, it stinks. The original post, "smelly feet" certainly implied feet that stink.

Every part of the human body has some kind of smell or aroma to it. It's natural. In fact, practically everything on earth has a smell to it. Some smells are so faint that human senses cannot detect them, but they're there. That's why dogs are so useful in law enforcement, search and rescue, etc. So is it a fact that feet do smell? No more than hands do, all things being equal. Do feet naturally smell bad? NO! As bfjohn said, it's the shoes, not the feet, that are the reason for an objectionable odor that many people call "smelly feet." No shoes - no "smelly" feet.

I like those two things, but am not into it. The sweaty shoe feet thing, that is.

I just asked a friend if my feet smelled, and she said she couldn't smell anything from them at all, so just keep em' bare. Bare to the ground, i mean, not sandals or 'flops!

I've never put my nose to anyone's feet, and sitting next to someone, even at close range like when I'm sitting on the floor, I've never been able to discern any smell coming from a barefooter's feet, only the typical 'foot' odor that is truly a 'shoe' odor if they had been wearing footwear. I'm sure a dog can smell someone's feet when they haven't worn shoes, but I can't!

    ^^

    i love it.

i never wear socks or closed toe shoes but my feet aways have a very very subtle smell to them. and i live it. it's a natural smell.

i have a friend called Rosie and she goes around barefoot a lot too and she has the same smell on her feet (i know, i've put my nose to her feet and smelled em - and shes done the same to my feet too actually :H)

Uggghhh... This kid behind me in class wearing skate shoes and black socks slipped his shoes off intermittently... I thought I was going to throw up. If somebody in flops does it, it doesn't stink, but black socks? Holy s***!!!

I MUCH prefer to go barefoot... Even if it's weird/pisses off my parents in some situations.

^ Yeah. Black is the worst. It takes in more heat as a color, so that ends up happening.

I agree with SatanHam. True barefooters are much sexier...and our feet don't have much of a smell unless sniffed closely.
