So, I have been cleansing for 6 days. I have had some non vegan things...salmon, tuna, eggs.....but mostly had vegetarian stuff. I want to try vegan. The only thing, I am having trouble finding foods with high protien. The only thing I see is tofu. are beans good, and what kind? do nuts have protien? I like to work out, ***any vegan bodybuilders out there?***and I would like to have a clean source of vegan protien.....but tofu everyday is a little bland......how do you do it? (get alot of protien in your diet without eggs, tuna, and chicken? BUT, I do feel alot healthier, and have a lot of energy! I kicked the caffiene habit, too! And, I am eating gluten free and wheat free. that is cool. So, just wanted to share........thanks!
Just do what feels healthy to you. As much as I don't want to have to waste the time laughing at all the hate that will be thrown my way for saying this, an altogether vegan diet isn't all that healthy. Kickking caffeine and other chemicals is a good thing, so is trying to skim out anything processed with preservatives and whatnot.
do a Web search and you will find veganfitness.com, and I believe vegan body building as a separates site. been a LONG time since I saw them. look at our FAQ for the protein answer.
This is the most superior protien source on the planet - http://amazon.com/gp/product/B000H31U4A/ref=s9_asin_image_2/002-2426101-3534454?pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=center-1&pf_rd_r=0QCN78BTYSABZZG630P4&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=278240701&pf_rd_i=507846
If you are converting to a vegan you will lose muscle mass unless you workout. If you eat sensibly then protein won't be a problem.
