Ive notice over the past year that in North/Central Alabama, the trees are being cut down big time in certain sections. Im mean they are clearing it out where ever they cut, and I want to do something. Unfortunately, you cannot do anything when your a minor. Not to mention that even if I could, I wouldnt know what to do. Does anybody and I mean ANYBODY have any ideas?
Of course trees are being cut down in large numbers. Lumber is slightly important to our society. Make sure the company is taking the correct legal and moral steps in replacing those trees. If they are, then why protest?
What do you mean exactly ''are they replanting them''? I dont believe so, actually I'm nearly 100% sure they arent.
i agree with cutting down trees for some reasons but those trees just like all the trees in my area are probably being cut down to have overly sized houses put up and shopping malls .. just what the world needs right?
I agree with no cutting down of trees. You can grow hemp and make almost everything we make using trees namely the paper weather it be for book work or cleaning your ass. And its great for clothes very durable. As for you cheech i say if you actually want to do anything organize a large sit-in or march style protest. If thats out of your reach i have some old tnt u can borrow . Peace be with ya man
I don't have any ideas. But I would say there are still a lot of wooded places here in my part of Alabama. In Texas, there's a community called the Woodlands. My older sis and her husband live there. From what I hear, they don't cut down any trees in that community (hence the name) for any reason. They just let the trees stay and build whatever they're building in between. Sounds like a nice idea to me.
Haha millions would certainly starve because of a more moderate natural ressources exploitation! Yeah, right...
Write to the Alabama legislature. I live in Southwest Alabama, and they are always cutting down trees here to build stupid subdivisions full of stupid cookie-cutter houses. Ugh, it makes me want to projectile vomit.
There is a shit load of clear cutting going on in Huntsville. There's a giant dirt hill that's viewable from any part of the city where a forest used to be and now it's just bald. Looks a lot like this: It doesn't look like it's going to stop anytime soon either. This city is constantly expanding and trees and forests are being destroyed to make room for cookie-cutter suburbs and mini-malls and fast food establishments. It's a shame. Despite that, we still have some beautiful forested areas and parks here that are protected by the state and it seems like there is more wilderness here then the city I used to live in, even though this city is much more populous.
