I havent read it really detailed on your later posts , but Id say if u want to take the piss out of everything , that suggests some sort of unhappiness with things in general.

If you treat everything as a joke then thats what u can end up with overall- and thats BAD.

Sarcasm can be very funny and play teasing can be a good thing.
But if the other person aint laughing with u , and u do it all the time , then ure liable to get someone strangle u and disappear.

Do u laugh after u say something ? Do they?
IF not , then u might as well be punchin them in the face after a while.

Sounds to me like maybe theres some sort of barrier between u and him.
Do u feel theres an unresolved dispute between u and him , or u and relationships in general.

Both of u going out and getting shitfaced on booze might be a start , or it might have the opposite effect.
Personally if I felt someone was badmouthing me for their own benefit repeatedly , Id lose my temper - even tho I tend to be very laid back

Annie, it is a defense mechanism called reaction formation. You keep your thoughts, feelings, impulses out of awareness and act out by instigating their opposites. You do this if the feeling is strong. Its a sign that you like him (duh you told us that) but that you need to work out whatever the problem is underlying.

That is something you have to figure out. It isn't something someone else can tell you but they can help you figure it out. Obviously there are problems with interpersonal relationships somewhere along the lines. I don't have the problem with men but I can come across as defensive sometimes when I am conveying a point or emotion. I've made some real progress.

Its a learning process. You just have to really make the effort to figure out what the behavior is, figure out how it makes you feel, then change the way you think about it. Then from the way you think about it you can change the behavior. It is all situational really. You don't have to stem it back to your past. Start with the here and now if you want.

So you like this guy. You think he doesn't mind the teasing. But maybe he does. You don't like your current behavior so change that behavior. It will change the way you feel and think.

So, here's an update to this whole situation. Last night, I was flirting so badly with the guy that I've been interested in here at camp. I got pretty drunk and admitted everything to him...the conversation went something like this:

Me: I brushed my teeth.
Alex: So did I.
Me: Wanna taste it? HAHA
Alex: *giggles nervously* Annie shut up.
Me: I'm serious, Alex. You know, I kinda like you.
Alex: *comes closer and puts arm around my waist* You know, I think you're totally cute and I really enjoy hanging out with you, but you know that time in Jenny's house [our boss] where you said that you didn't want any drama? Well, if we do anything, it's gonna be drama.
Me: It doesn't have to be though.
Alex: No, you're right, it doesn't, but it will be. And I'm probably stupid for not doing anything with you. In fact, I know I am...
Me: I'm confused, I think.
Alex: Yeah, it may seem like I know what I want, but I even confuse myself sometimes.
Me: Lame.
Alex: yeah, I know, and I'm having a hard time holding myself back from you.
Me: Really?
Alex: Yes, so I think I should go to bed now.

He hugs me and walks up to his room. So he likes me...but he isn't going to allow anything to happen basically because he doesn't want drama. I think the drama mostly has to do with my trailer-mate, who he dated last year and she definitely still has feelings for him - but she won't be returning after Thanksgiving. I think she would be upset at the both of us if anything happened between Alex and I. Which sucks...I'm convinced that that is a big reason why...because in our company it's pretty common to have bosses date employees under them...so that's not even the issue...so yeah...that happened last night...I'm not sure how to feel about all of it...

What do you all think?

 

well, i think its good you got it out in the open. i mean, its really not a total turn down - he just doesn't want any drama. and maybe when that girl is gone after thanksgiving, there wont' be drama and you 2 can go for it

Considerably more frustrated now...

He comes into my room at about 11 last night, intoxicated...I had just turned my light off and was laying down. He knocks at my door to see if I am awake...I am...he comes in and jumps into bed and starts chatting with me and cuddles up next to me. A little while later it becomes pretty obvious he's turned on...and what happens? Nothing...nothing! I guess we must have fallen asleep a few hours later..and at about 4 AM he wakes me up, rubs my back a little, and says he's going to his bed.

I feel like he's toying with me...I kiss his neck and I get nothing back in return...

I want to punch him in the face...or maybe it's that I'm just THAT sexually frustrated.
