beginning homeschooling

    how long does it take to begin homeschooling? let's say starting today, my parents are ready for me to be homeschooled and just have to go file the papers and whatever they need to do, how long will it take before i can be homeschooled? thanks!

    It all depends on the school and the state. I knew in April that I wanted to withdraw and go to a community college instead, when I would have been a junior in high school. For me, I had to file all of the paperwork by August 1, before school started. I think you can still withdraw mid-year, but it might be more difficult. Basically, go to the administration building for your district as soon as possible to get the forms and everything. Time is everything!!     Oh yeah, check out the Teenage Liberation Handbook. It has info about homeschooling, dropping out etc., so I hear. I won't be able to get my hands on the book for a week at least.
