blah, ladies, all our favorite subject, i'm sure. here i'm sitting, miserable...have an infection...tried monastat 1 (i had bought a homeopathic version, but COULD not imagine waiting 7 days for relief) and here, i'm still itching. i called the hotline and they were like oops, dont' use this product...they are giving me a refund, but now what? i don't know if i shoud try some other product, wait, ... can't see my doctor right now cause i dont' have any insurance (for the moment) i'm gonna go out and buy a big vat of soy yogurt... any recommendations on what to do?
you can control yeast totally by diet. google it and im sure you'll find dietary recommendations that include yogurt but arent limited to just yogurt.
More than 500mg/day of vitamin C will help, as will lots of any acid fruit juice. The little yeasties like to live in a base environment (pH that is) so anything that makes your membranes a little acid will keep them from flaring up.
If you have no objections to hydrocortisone cream, when I get yeast infections, I usually use that to combat the itches and it works pretty well. It says on the tube to not use it there, but it hasn't done me any harm and it certainly helps.
natural yogurt works wonder's eaten though. even though my doc said if i get it i can put some on a tampon and that will get rid of it. try and control your yeast intake as well (as someone said) like dont drink loads of beer, dont eat loads of bread simple things like that.
ooh i get these all the time... i found a website that was really great, i'll have to look it up for you, but here a few suggestions: yogurt, of course, no added sugar... even putting on yourself will help (as opposed to a cream) try putting a raw clove of garlic up there, i'm telling you it works wonders and this is my favorite... it smells a little funny, but it's hardly messy at all and well it really helps. drink lots of cranberry juice because it cleanses your urine and well it kinda helps in a weird third party way...
http://www.msu.edu/user/eisthen/yeast/yourself.html okay there it is.. lots of odd things on there hehe
hmmmm if you put a clove of garlic up there, how long does it smell like garlic? if you get a bath n all, does the smell go away or stick around? (because when ever i chop garlic and i touch it, i can wash my hands many times and they still smell like garlic)
hehe well i don't smell my crotch too often like i do my fingers, but it doesn't seem to linger very long. plus the vagina is self-cleansing, so i think that helps too; it all gets flushed out. i think i'll have to ask charles if i smelled like garlic for a long time. lol
i feel much better. i've cut way down on sugar and wheat...although i never ate much sugar OR wheat, but now i've been eating real little. i wonder...does dairy bring this sort of thing on? because, after being a vegan for 4 years, i just went on a mini cheese binge (one week of organic raw cheese) hmm...
heya, I'm suffering from a yeast infection myself and I'm trying the yoghurt right now! it was actually the birthcontrol-ring (you know, a plastic ring you insert in your vagina, it has hormones, here it's called NuvaRing, anyway) that caused the infection. now I wonder if yoghurt or garlic would do harm to the ring? making it unreliable and stuff? right now I'm hurting so bad that I just started using yoghurt (don't think it could do much harm..) but just checking!! thanks!
sit in a bathtub with warm water up to your hips. mix in 1/2 cup of vinegar and a 1/2 cup of salt. this works wonders! it balances out your ph levels.
