I love to get really thick hotboxes going so you can start coughing on the air... I am wondering if this lack of oxygen is going to cause any permanent effects. I'd assume theres no real risk unless you're stuck in the super-thick fog of my bedroom for a while longer (like 30 minutes or something)
THC and other cannabinoids, as far as i understand, do not kill brain cells in anywhere close to significant quantities. no more than holding your breath for a minute would. its not the drug, but lack of oxygen due to smoking. being continuously exposed to very high levels of secondhand smoke, whether its from weed or not, will affect how much oxygen you can get with each breath. you may endure greater risk of killing brain cells due to lack of oxygen...if you begin to feel woozy it is time for fresh air. sitting around in a very, very smoky room for a while will decreased the oxygen available to you. the longer youre there and the smokier the room, the less easily you can breath. doing this on a regular basis for extended periods of time could, in theory, eventually harm you a good bit due to lack of oxygen, perhaps carbon monoxide, any of the nasty chemicals involved with smoking plant matter (doesnt have to be carcinogenic to hurt you - just cause there isnt evidence that cannabis causes cancer doesnt mean that smoking it isn't harmful at all) basically its a bad idea, but if you do it once in a while you should be fine. however you do not inhale a significantly larger amount of THC this way....you just don't breath so well hotboxing can be fun once in a while, but i dont make a habit of it. i dont think its seriously dangerous, but it can't be particularly healthy anyways. i try to avoid sitting in the smoke for too long after the session is finished, usually. no more than 10-15 minutes before i break the bake...sooner if its really, really thick smoke
I was smoking w/ 2 friends in high school, and I was laying sideways (across the arms) of this super comfy chair, and my buddy goes to grab something out of his closet behind my head, and he bumps this lamp cord hanging down in front of the door. I thought it was a board that he had knocked over, and flipped myself over onto the floor. There was no board, just me, on the floor, in a hot-boxed room, thinking that I almost got smacked by a big piece of wood. Its not so bad if you turn on a fan. maybe build a tent (whoo! fort!) and then you have a buffer zone between hot box and fresh air, less waste. Not that my advice is the best, but thats what I would do!
well this was prolly a stupid idea but me and a freind once each took a garbadge bag put it over top of us and then tucked the bottom into r pants (like u wud tuck in ur shirt), then we each had a joint and lit up inside the garbage bag and every once in a wile wed have to let air in.
I dont see how its any worse to have smoke covering a room compared to you taking the hit and directly putting the smoke into your lungs... if anything the hotboxing is safer because butane lighters have hazardous materials.
I just got this really funny mental picture of you both passing out and suffocating with the bags over your head. That would be an awkward way to go. Peace
One of the Mags recently had some dude covered in a giant plastic bag hooked up to a few volcano vaporizers. Crazy!
i like to hotbox cars mainly. the other day my friends and i were parked in a parking lot behind the old armory and we smoked about five or six blunts. then we decided to leave. as we were pulling out we saw another carload of people on the other side of the parking lot. they were there for the same reason. so we rolled down all the windows right in front of their car and let them watch the smoke pour out. they were laughing so hard i think one of them actually pissed his pants. we started to talk and then smoked a bunch of weed together. it was a great way to make new friends
I have a Cheech and Chong picture in my head Man its doberman! How is the haze on the windshield at night?
