i am looking for people to put a project together. i am a singer/songwriter and i play guitar, bass and drums - i am also a bit of an artist. if anyone knows a drummer, bass player or guitar player who are into psychedelic drugs and are in their late 20's early 30's let me know. we will put a band together with myself on vocals. i would also be interested in meeting people who dont play bass or drums but still want to be a part of something big. if you or someone you know is sick of getting nowhere doing the same old thing everyday then you should consider joining forces. we can get more done with numbers - we need to work together. even if you are already getting somewhere there is allways a benifit to networking. i am interested in networking with all types of psychedelic artists and musicians - you dont have to be a part of the band and you dont have to live in toronto necessarily. i am new to ontario, born in toronto and grew up in huntsville ontario then moved out to BC for 10 years before moving back last year. now i live in etobicoke and i am actively looking for people to join forces with. so if you know anyone or you have some ideas as to where i could be looking in toronto drop me a line. finding people is proving to be a difficult process - there seem to be few people into psychedelic drugs these days. i am looking for people who are close to the same age as myself that still use psychedelics such as LSD.(not looking for people who "used" to trip out when they were younger.) i guess real 'trippers' are hard to find. i would appreciate any help that i can get. i am not looking for people who just get high all the time, i am looking for people who respect psychedelic drugs and use them wisely in a productive environment.
That sounds like a great idea bro. I don't mean to question you, but I have to wonder if you are limiting yourself by being so strict about the psychedelic use. I totally see why you would want people who are into the same stuff as you, but do you not think that there are any people who've never tripped who could successfully collaborate with you on this project? Just something to think about (and I am remembering that I think it was you who said that you either support tripping or are totally against it, and I do see that point as well)
if they saw the benefit to taking LSD then they would use it themselves. if they dont see a benefit for themselves then they will naturally see no benefit to my use either. a band is like a family and if someone in the group is doing something to themselves that you do not feel good about you will speak up or protect yourself by creating distance. the group must be tight like a family. playing with people who do not see a benefit to LSD would ultimately cause too much conflict. plus - i find that i prefer the musical styles and creative abilities of psychedelic drug users... i know what LSD has done for my music and i would like to play with people who can appreciate that!
I am totally up for all of it and fit your description. I even play guitar and would love to learn bass, but I'm in CT, USA.
my geography is better then most americans but it is not that good... where is CT??? or what does CT stand for?
I definitely see your points about wanting psychedelic musicians. CT is basically next to NYC if that helps.
I used to play guitar, but now I don't play anything, but fuck, maybe you need manager, or at least someone who will dose all of you guys while you are playing hahaha I am a volonter!!! Although, Africa is far, but maybe when you make a tour, there is strong scene in South Africa and constant festivals all year long. Check here: www.3am.co.za maybe if you post a simillar post there you might find what you are looking for. Much love and peace to everybody!!
Hey great idea! I've had the same thing in mind for a long time... Unfortunately I don't play any instruments right now (learning guitar though)... but I do live in the Oshawa area (just outside of Toronto for all you people who don't know) and would love to help... not to sure how! but if you need any help, with anything let me know! And I'm also experienced with psychedelics...
good to know. i dont see you being a part of the band - i need much more experienced players. but... there are many other areas that i will need some help with as we get this ball rolling. i will let you know once we get our act together.
i am still actively looking for band mates in toronto. will consider working with people from all over north america as psychedelic musicians are very hard to find. please, any help in spreading the word would be greatly appreciated. here is the add i put up on craigslist... Sex: M Age: 31 Studio Musician: Yes Level Of Commitment: Very Committed Years Playing Music: 15 Gigs Played: 50 to 100 Tend to Practice: 2-3 times per week Available to Gig: 2-3 time(s) per week i am 31 years old and i have been singing for over 8 years. (i used to sing when i was younger but nothing serious) my vocals are confident with strong emotion and unique with passion. my lyrics are deep with meaning, extremely creative and new age ~ lyrics about karma, consciousness, enlightenment, politics and personal freedoms, money, tax, dept, law, morality, cruelty, innocent victims, environment and evolution, and most importantly, family, love, health, healing and growing. i would be interested in singing someone elses lyrics as long as i have room to contribute creatively as well. i have years of live, studio and jamming experience. i have been writing my own music since the beginning and i am almost completely self taught. i play by feel and know very little theory. my lyrics are easy to understand with a good message. i have lots of material and i am always writing. in addition to your musical abilities i am looking for business partners and i am looking for friends. i am very much into psychedelic drugs and marijuana. moderation is key and i am far from a burn out - i am very productive and serious about music and success. i dont drink or use other hard drugs such as cocaine, meth or heroin and would like to avoid bands who are into such things. a drink now and again is no problem but if you guys are a regular drinkers or party every weekend i am not interested unless it is weed or psychedelic drugs. i usually trip once every 1-3 months and smoke pot everyday. if i sound like someone who might work with your project could you please send me an email with the following info or a link to a page with info - how often will we jam and on what days and times, how long have you been playing your instruments and how good are you - or do you have something i can listen to. i will definitly bring a psychedelic feel to the band!
i wish i could help u,i know how hard it is to get into a band u like (let alone start one) all i can say is keep tryin and u will eventually find what you're looking for. although im not even in my 20's,and i live in florida i can play drums just as good as anyone else and better then most.as far as psychedelics go...i love em lol . acid is the best thing thats ever happened to my music, and thats pretty much all i even use it for now these days,is to excell my musicical abilitys
damn, 3xi i'd love to jam with ya. i'm close to the canadian border but on the opposite side of the continent I used to drum with an indy/punk band and it was great fun but of the few genres I don't really like, punk is sorta one of them. the band mates were complete straight-edgers, no drugs whatsoever, even the helpful ones. we only performed 10 times or so but being in front of the audience is an indescribable experience; I played better than I ever thought I could, I guess by feeding off the energy of the crowd. good luck finding dedicated souls.
Would a piano player with rcma grade 10 certificate and some stage experience interest you? I have a strong passion for drugs but music is my raison d'etre, so i got the priorities you want. I hail from mississauga.
depends, i usually dont work well with 'schooled' musicians. if you can improvise well and know how to play by ear (we will not be telling you what key to play in as you will have to figure that out on your own) then maybe. have you ever played in a band/jam setting. ever played on lsd? i am looking for refined musicians that are comparable to the best musicians of all time. are you good enough?
Can't improvise for shit. I learn from ear like there's no tomorrow though. Never played in a band, just solo. Played solo on LSD, was beyond amazing, like I was weaving a tapestry of meaning (which is what music is!). I'm not comparable to the best musicians of all time, but I feel I understand their music completely sometimes. Which is saying alot when you're talking about this level of artistry. Often it helps to smoke some weed when listening to music, you see so many aspects of it you wouldn't otherwise, at least for me. I'm just shooting the shit though; I don't think I have the right stuff to be in a band. I'm interested to see how it turns out for you though.
