quote: Because that's life. Quit bitching about living in the greatest country in the world. Or get the fuck out. I've lived here longer than you, and I don't like people who say "get the fuck out" so YOU get the fuck out!!!
what are ya talking about woman!? you cannot walk barefoot anywhere ( i dont see why yad want to either, cause its pretty cold and rainy around these parts) and there are definalty places that would refuse to serve you because of your lack of shoes. you are feckin insane!.
I tried to make it to Ireland but the sea was too rough for the ferry, but in England I really didn't notice more people without shoes...where the hell did this rumor come from?!
I feel like I don't belong but then again I can't leave. End point you live here because of your mom and dad and their lives. The end.
most people wear shoes in ireland too, the thought of goin barefoot- is rediculas. this ole rumour came from that crazy girl who wants to be from the uk.
I lived there for 24 years. In most venues it is commonplace to be refused entry for wearing the wrong type of jeans/shirt/shoes, not being good-looking enough, being too drunk, being too sober, laughing in the queue, not wearing a jacket or simply for being male. You will likely be beaten up for not wearing shoes. This may pose more of a problem than being refused service. You probably won't be able to afford to go out to eat or buy anything anyway. It depends what sort of job you get. Expect there to be between 30 and 100 people applying for any job you go for. A waitress/bar worker earns around £4.50 -£6 an hour. A value meal at Burger King costs around £8.50. On the other hand, the UK is awesome for a load of reasons you probably know already.
ok, there's no barefoot rule here, but we do have kinda odd rules that are similar... like, you can't wear torn jeans, or football shirts in harrods. Oh, and if you find yourself over here, i'd give public nudity a miss too...
