A friend and I are planning on dropping tonight so hopefully the answer to my question will get to me in time. We have a sitter ,that has no experience of psychadelics, for the first 4 hours but after that we will be on our own in my dorm. Neither of us has ever taken LSD, but we both have experience with shrooms. Is it a bad idea to be alone for the last 4-6 hours of the experience. Should i just stay sober and make sure my friend is good and maybe he could do the same for me tomorrow? What do you guys think?
I would get someone sober to stay for the whole thing...but im really paronoid about things like that. If you are by your self you will probally be fine..... or you will jump off the roof ..... lol
Well seeing as you have taken shrooms before you will be fine. The sitter is a good Idea, but don't worry about being alone.
Well it depends how experienced you are with mushrooms and how much acid are you taking. If you know mushrooms well and you are taking one to two hits each than don't worry. Go enjoy and have fun!!!
i want to try all this stuff but i just dont want to do it alone or with somone who will take atvantage so it seems i cant hope to try any soon :s
the only need for a sitter is reassurance in dim situations, the only factor in dim situations is yourself. So really, you dont need one - just reassure yourself of that, and you won't.
set and setting are very important when it comes to LSD. when someone thinks that they might need a sitter they think this only because they are afraid that something might happen where they need assistance. the fear that something might happen where you would need a sitter is part of your set and setting and in most cases will create an experience that needs a sitter. in other words if you were to be confident that you dont need a sitter then you would be fine without one. a psychedelic experience is very subjective and because you fear that you will need help you actually will. it is VERY dangerous to have someone with little or no experience with psychedelic drugs as a sitter. how could they possibly be of any help - they are ignorant and lack the necessary experience to help if the need for help should arise. personally i have always had a problem tripping around people who are sober - even if they are experienced. i would much rather be with people who are on the trip with me or alone. in my experience a sitter only causes more problems anyways. best you trip with others who are on LSD with you. did you trip? how was it?
I agree with the guy above. The sitters if they have no clue what to say and can bring more paranoia and shit like it when you are experiencing ego death. But whats your start slowly getting your ego back and realize you are tripping, you are usually straight for the rest of the ride. All the small things they say can make you flip a switch, talking with an assertive voice, saying things like "oh shit", "we need to get you help", etc. No matter what the situation a sitter usually helps me if they can just convince me in a calm tone, that everythings fine and that I should just relax. I usually need to be reassured I have nothing that I need to do except enjoy my trip, that we planned it out, and things will be okay and nobody will be bugging us and I will not need to act sober, go anywhere or do anything. Never should they threaten to get help from somebody else no matter what. You won't die from too much LSD, and if they can restrain you, even if it ruins your trip, you'll still end up okay when its over. Atleast I did.
Did you really decide that you want to trip? If you did, why are you thinking about what can go wrong? By doing that, you are just cosing all those, and many more unplanned shit to happen. Just be positive and you don't need sitter at all, unless you are a "Drama quin" and you are actually bringing sitter so you can freak him and yourself out so he can tell everybody how crazy you are. If you had expirience with shrooms and you are confortable with them, you shouldn't have any problems, unless you create them for yourself. It's all in your head and completely your choise, just remeber that!
