It isn't that cut and dry actually. It all depends on the question first of all, and where in the chart Mars is and aspects.

I have a mars in Gemini as well. It is not well aspected so I didn't get along with my mom ,(my father died when I was young). It does have one good aspect and that lets me be me. Don't let it scare you my friend. It isn't that bad, really.
Who are the restless ones? The ones that find it hard to sit still for very long and feel compelled to get off that comfortable living room chair and find something to do to relieve the boredom of relaxation? I'll put Mars in Gemini in there, and Mars in Sagittarius, Mars in Virgo, Mars in Aries, that's for those at the top of the list.
I have Mars in Taurus. I am slow to anger, but whatch out when I reach my limiit. It also adds to musical ability, heavy team sports, dancing, and singing. They make good lovers.
My Mars is in Scorpio which can be both beneficial and harmful, depending on the energies and emotions you project. Mars in Scorpio relates to deep emotion. The key is keeping these emotions positive, because this is a notoriously criminal association, believe it or not.... strength of character is required to make this a rewarding placement.
I agree. It's stregnth of character that makes a sign work for good or bad. There is no bad sign or anything else in Astrology. It's what you do with what you have. We chose to be born in my opinion. We have choices to make.
