Hello, I just fly in from forest and mountain. I like old country music very much. I like hank Williams, Willie Nelson, and song that go "I'm here to tell you people I'm ragged but right, a rambler and a gambler i get drunk every night"

Who else like this fantastic new music called old country music?

    and why.

I like for cinematic quality, I feel I am in movie when I hear this new music.

Ah a country noob. Such fun you youngsters are.

    Let's start with the basics

    Classic Country

    Jimmie Rodgers
    Hank Willians
    Hank Snow
    Ernest Tubb

    Outlaw Country

    Waylon Jennings
    WIllie Nelson
    Johnny Cash
    Gram Parsons
    Merle Haggard

    Alt-Country

    Steve Earle
    Dwight Yoakam
    Wayne Hancock
    Hank WIlliams 3
    Wilco
    Beachwood Sparks

That is all for now kids. Ask old man HonkyTonk more bout this crazed, demented Hillbilly music later.

Too bad most country is so bad these days..........most of it comes from that dark place where country and rock meet.

I dunno, is garth brooks considered older country?
yeah yeah, I know....not like "old" like you all are meaning. Not like Johnny Cash or anything. I dont like country but I do like Garth Brooks. Not enough to buy his album...but I will listen if I hear him on the radio. Other than that, all I know about county is that there is this lady named Gretchen Wilson who is all over the place and I want to knock her teeth out. She annoys me that much....and I nobody actually annoys me that much that I would even care let alone want to punch them......her I want to punch.

Johnny Cash ruled, rest his soul. At the end of Sept. His last album will be out.

While I like Johnny Cash, i consider this man, Hank Williams to be the true King of Country...plus he died like a star, morphine OD in the back of a limo at age 29

Have you heard the Tyde? It's the Beachwood Sparks side prject (or is it vice versa?) and they play like british style pop. Good Shit. Waylon Jennings is the shit, hell the guy covered DYlan songs wa back in 64. He had good taste in music, he also covered NeIl Young's "are you ready for the country?".

no, i haven't heard the Tyde, i'd been wondering what happened to Beachwood Sparks, they were by far my favorite band in Los Angeles when I lived there..the first time i heard them was right when i was taking that picture....its been a while since they put out anything.

Yea, Waylon was great too....i just heard "Luchenbach, Texas"on the radio when i went to the store.
