the only bono i know anything about was a late 60s singer/musician who turned right wing loonie politician. the guy who was married for a while to april bellows and made a number of alblums with her. they called themselves sonny and cher.

i don't know about hate, because hate is one of those self defeating kind of things, but i can honestly say i have no great love generally for most of his politics. i'm glad i don't live down there in overheated lala, which ought to be given back to that other country bordering to the south, not that i think they deserve to have it inflicted on them either.

When I lived in Dublin I used to live down the road from Bono. This is years ago when he was just famous and not a religious nut on cocaine and fuck me he was so amazingly arrogant. He'd have tons of people (mostly girls and young tourists who couldn't think of anything else to do in Ireland) hanging out and waiting for him to come out with his entirely unnecessary bodyguard, oh and looking sheepish when his wife came out and trying to not to look like they wouldn't fuck her husband. We had so much u2 crap signed by the band and sometimes the bodyguard and hangers on that you couldn't see the walls of our house cos of all the posters. OH! the reason he wares those glasses is cos he looks like he's got a double squint like that chap on 3rd rock from the sun. and then there was his donkey

Originally he called himself Bono Vox (good/excellent Voice/Message) they all had odd names I think 'the edge' was the only one who kept his daft name. A few years ago he had a DJ physically (and allegedly more roughly than necessary) flung from his hotel/nightclub(The Clarance) cos he refused to play a prodigy cd that Bono bought that day in the middle of his set. after wards Bono had the cd played from the start till he left his club and they went back to playing music for the people to dance to. Seriously you can't just play a cd in a night club and expect every one to dance all night to it. He's famous in Dublin for acting weird in his club picking people randomly and having them thrown out or insisting they come to the VIP section with him and suck up to him. The famous tantrums are supposed to be entertaining; he even has them at the other members of u2. It's kinda funny that people take him seriously out side Ireland cos he's a total joke here.
