I would back the legalisation of all but the most addictive and communally destructive drugs, such as crack, heroin and crystal meth, and in their cases users should not be demonised or imprisoned, they should not be treated as criminals, but patients with illnesses and they should be offered all the help they need to treat themselves....

I agree with Peace-Phoenix. I think that whatever they say, do, people will still take drugs and sending them to prison isnt gonna change that. If you say dont do this, people will want to do it.

I think it is definitely time for the drug laws to be revised/reformed. I also don't feel all drugs should be legal, as I don't think that substances such as crack, heroin, or meth should be available for all adults to use. I do agree that those caught in possession of or on such drugs shouldn't be placed in prison however but given intensive drug counseling, down the point where they are eventually off methadone (as that is given to replace the other drugs and many become addicted to it as well).

I feel there are many benefits that can be found for a variety of illegal drugs, whether it be ease of physical ailments or mental ailments.
It has been too long that governments have been arresting people for petty offenses where drugs are concerned when they should be able to focus their attention on REAL crimes affecting people. I mean, as an example what happened earlier in the year with the police arresting a granny for growing some cannabis in order to bake with it because it helped her and all her senior friends not be in so much pain. Do we really need to be wasting money on prosecution and police forces for this 'problem'? Or should we just say 'this is not a problem' and get on with combating real crime problems like theft and violence?

Not to mention the fact that if the government does find a way to legalize or decriminalize most drugs and can say even establish reputable 'dealers' to obtain things from then you know that you are always getting something that is safe and not helping to support some group of gangsters.
