So I'm qutting herb for awhile (job, tolerance break, need to focus on things) but besides that, I can still drink and was wondering about a nice bottle of rum to pick up, not some cheap shit I usually get.. but something to last me awhile, and a good taste. Do you guy's have any reccomendations or know a site with a good selection of bottle's ?
boy your asking the wrong guy here. I usually will go for some Seagrams whiskey or vodka in a mixed drink. I just never can put down rum....
yeh rum is the shett! Tho fuk i seen sum people snap when they had a bottle of it. Rum n coke is fuking nice, Best rum round here is Bundaberg Rum tho im not sure you get it in Florida since its made in austrlia.
Pyrat rum is a great quality rum.. but unless you are drinking rum straight up.. then there is no reason to buy quality rum if you are mixing it with soda.. thats like buying a 20oz porterhouse steak and serving it with Ramen
Yeah I'd be drinking it straight if it doesn't taste like shit. Thats why I was looking for a good brand, i'll check out Pyrat. A friend of mine today said Barcadi 8 is good too, so I'm not sure.
havana club!!! is nice dude bout 17 pounds over here, but for only 10 pounds, what im sippen on right now this minute, is appleton jamaica rum.now you can make a real strong rum and coke like 50/50 and it still tastes sweet!!!!
Get Lamb's Tropical Breeze. It's the best fuckin rum I know of. It's cheap (about $31CDN for a 40) and it tastes awesome and goes down smooth. Whether you're mixing or shooting, it'll go down just as well. And with a cheap price tag to boot. If they don't have Lamb's in the States, then just go for Cap'n Morgan Gold. It's like Lambs, but not as sweet and more expensive (argued to be a better quality, though I'm not sure.)
havana club is illegal here due to the embargo, though i've heard a different company has obtained the legal us trademark for the brand name and is producing rum legal to consume in the US with havana club labelling, but it is not authentic cuban rum. it all boils down to personal taste. a good rule of thumb is to never buy white rum and to show a preference to aged rum over others pyrat is owned by patron and produces some excellent rum, though i've only had one of theirs, pyrat xo. if you can find it affordably, then its not too expensive. it runs as high as 40 bucks a bottle on a regular basis (saw that price in florida and online) but its 24 bucks a bottle where i live for the exact same price. a big online liquor store recently had it on sale for 15 bucks a bottle. if the sale is still ongoing and youve never had this, try it. also mount gay has some good rums, as does cruzan - again, stay away from white rums or flavored rums, though, they are good ONLY for mixing drinks, and i personally still prefer aged or dark rum. bacardi has a few good ones....bacardi anejo is pretty nice, i've only seen it available in florida though. stay away from bacardi silver or gold though, and bacardi select isnt top notch either. the anejo is good, like i said, but the best bacardi i've tasted is bacardi 8, which is a pretty affordable aged rum at about 20 bucks even per bottle around my area. appleton estate is a bit cheaper than bacardi 8 and i'd say about as good, but not QUITE as good. appletons more expensive rums i've not tried, but they are also supposed to be excellent.
captain morgan is way too sweet and syrupy for me as it is, and if i'm drinking rum i want it to be at least 80 proof...though captain morgan private stock isnt god awful. im not much of a fan of spiced rums off the bat, though. if i go for spiced rum, its not uncommon for me to have a bottle of sailor jerry's spiced navy rum
i like captain morgans private stock in rum n coke. but the only hard a i ever buy when im with friends is monarch rum or jack daniels no 7
Dont buy sailor jerrys it is cheap crappy rum lol! Get some captain morgan cant go wrong there. And by some coke a cola That shit goes really good with rum
