I thought of making those of us who have roommate a thread so we can vent. 1) My roommate and her boyfriend who's always here half of the week, eat all of the food and almost never goes to the supermarket. 2) Today she went to supermarket and got some stuff, I help her put it all away, she started cooking pasta and didnt even ask me if I had dinner or if I wanted some (I constantly cook for her). Then I went to the kitchen to make a salad with some beans and chickpeas I had left over, to what she told me, Oh I used that to take tomorrow to work for my lunch 3) I was watching The Simpsons (I almost never watch tv) and she sits down and takes the remote starts looking through the show listing and goes are you watching that.. it was in another channel before I could answer her. 4) She constantly has this really bad music on, so loud. I mean she's cleaning her room and puts the tv on a "hip hop" radio station (the tv is in the living room) so I have to listen to this. 5) She NEVER takes the trash out or stuff to recycling 6) She leaves a bunch of clothes in the bathroom that we share. I guess that's it. I guess this is my tolerance exercise I have to do everyday, I really dont like conflict so I just let things be and well keep being nice and doing nice things for her, after all example is the best way we learn... but needed to get stuff out of my system.
i used to have some stupid rommates, but now i live with my boyfriend, whom i love dearly, and we're both slobs, so i have few complaints however, he NEVER FUCKING PUTS FOOD BACK IN THE FUCKING FRIDGE!!!!! and all of our delicious snacks go bad. and we can't buy any more cause we're poor. i've become a nag and it's all his fault. boo.
My boyfriend is my roommate, too, and my only gripe is he's home all day (which I secretly love, it means he's always around when I get home), but he somehow fails to find time to do the simplest of chores most days. All he does without being nagged is yardwork and he does that obsessively!
yes, my love for him has allowed me to put his foibles behind. inconsiderate roommates, on the other hand, do not have that nifty little buffer, and so their inconsiderate actions grate on the nerves. inconsiderate!!! your roommate is inconsiderate. she does not think before she acts, or she does, but does not care how her actions affect others (you.) so what you've got to figure out is if she is just forgetful/impulsive, but good-hearted, or if she's a jerk. if she's nice, but just isn't thinking, then lay it out to her sweetly. have a talk about "personal space". if she's a jerk, just start withdrawing from her. slowly. and then when you move out, you'll know more about what you're looking for in your next roommate (or for when you live with your boyfriend)... whoops, sorry... i know you weren't looking for advice, but rather to rant... i understand! i wish i had a yard...
I've had too many horrible housemates. But then I've had some really lovely ones too. I do hope I never have to be in that position again where I have to share a house with random people. I'm so much happier now that I'm living with the boyfriend, our place actually feels like home.
Hahah, Tim never puts food back in the fridge either. And there's always butter lying on the kitchen counter. It fucks me off so much for some reason, so he's turned me into a nag too. Also, how difficult can it be to put dirty socks into the laundry basket instead of leaving them lying around?
apparently very^ I live with my boyfriend now, its not so bad so far, i've had to wash some stamps and marker off him a few times already, he doesn't put cds away or sometimes guitars, so thats actually shitty. he does vacuum and do dishes so thats cool. I can't really think of anything else right now, but i'm in an overly loving mood right now...
This thread came at a perfect time. My ex called up and wants to move in here for like 30-60 days to get her shit together. I almost caved and this brought back so many past thoughts, thank god I found this and now I can say "NO!, NOTTA, AINT GONNA HAPPEN!" with ease.
ahaha, my roommate drives me nuts she never takes out the garbage. she never ever ever helps haul groceries back from teh store (grocery store is only like 4 blocks, but we tend to buy lots at once... and she didnt even help unload them when we had a friend with a car give us a lift for the shittonne of turkey day food we had). she leaves her socks in the living room. she doesnt flush the toilet after 10pm, including when she did a number two last night. and she tries to talk to me before ive had my coffee. im surprised shes still alive after that one. i am not a nice person in the morning.
www.whostolemymilk.com is pretty funny/horror stories of bad roomates. maybe it will make you feel better, lol. roomates suck!!! i finally live w/ my boyfriend, which is great, but we do have 2 other roomates. they're ok. not as bad as living with a bunch of girls!! we can't even be friends anymore.
So I got this nice looking diced pineapples in the supermarket, I've been eating like no food. Well yeah, my roommate took it.
I'd lose it on her just about now and start looking for a new place to stay. If you've been eating that little and she's STILL eating all your food, then she's putting your health at risk and that's where you should DEFINITELY draw the line.
Well I havent been eating because of her, she does eat my food, but she went to the store and got some stuff the other day. I'm just kinda into eating fruits and drinking juice at the moment and I wouldnt have mind if she takes some of it, but she took the whole thing, I didnt even try it I'll probably say something to her when she comes home from work about how not cool iti s when you wake up with pineapples in your mind and they are not there.
simple solution.... next time she shops...empty the fridge..empty the cabinets..stash every bit of food in your room..when she asks where it all went just be honnesst & say you felt like u had to horde it all or get none my roomates a cat & is pretty easy to get along with..but yea never does the dishes
I had a roommate that never left my couch unless I was taking her somewhere... for four months.... who never cooked, cleaned, did anything.... I'm surprized she's still alive...
