This is what I think

I believe is marijuana was legal then not as many people would do it. When you tell someone not to do something of course they are going to do it because it's human nature, but if it was legal maybe not as many people would do it because there wouldn't be that rush of I'm doing something illegal. Does that make sense? Does anyone agree?

 

I completely agree and just to back you up. The percent of people who use marijuana in Amsterdam is much lower than the percent of people who do so in America.

 

That's dumb to smoke weed just cuz its illegal, necrophelia is now illegal in cali, does that mean dumb kids are going to start porking the dead. you should smoke weed to get high, any other reason is a waste of weed.

That makes no sense. I've never met a single person who smokes weed just because it's illegal. If weed was legalized, even more people would smoke it. Why would a big time smoker stop just because it's legalized?

If it's legalized, you're not losing any smokers. But you are gaining quite a few.

 

Well youd lose some. there actualyl are heaps of kids who start because its rebelious. But overall i recon in western countries it would go up heaps. well never know tho.

 

I'd die happy if it was legal. And smoke every day until that death day happened.

I guess its kinda like the whole forbidden fruit thing. I read somewhere that since the legalisation of weed in amsterdam the amount of ppl who use class A drugs dropped dramaticly. Another reason for legalisation. They should be fighting to keep kids of Heroin not weed. I dont think the gov realise theyr prioritys.

 

Bingo. I mean, most of the people in the US would agree that even when God himself tells us not to do something, we humans say "Shit, that stuff must be good, if it's so illegal. Lets check it out." The prohibition makes it tantalizing, something that's being kept from us that might be good. So we are drawn to it. This is true whether we actually partake or not. Which is why at first, if it was legalized, all those people who wanted to do it, but didn't for fear of the law, would do it (my friend Dan for example). The draw to try it would hold over. I bet, though, that usage would eventually go down to previous levels, or lower.

 

I'm a potsmoker, but I don't smoke it cuz it's illegal. I smoke to get high. The affects at what keep me going sometimes! And Yes If pot were LEGAL then there would be alot of people that would dam sure smoke all the time!

I never said that everyone who smokes pot does it because it's illegal. Fairfield explained it perfectly.

 

shoulda just posted these thoughts under my thread "pot march" but on ur subject i think more ppl would toke up if it were legal i know i could convince my parents to if they hey werent breaking the law! i think tons of stoners would get thier friends and family to try it and then you have more stoners! like jack herer says weed can save the world so lets fuckin legalize it!

 

I would agree with you also. But i know for myself and other potheads that that would just make me do it more. Maybe theres a good reason why its illegal, to keep people from frying themselfs sensless lol
