Hey everybody, this is my first post on here, i wanted to know about LSD. I used to smoke pot, until my mom came home and found my stash, now i get random at-home drug tests. I am a musician, and it seems like i havent had any good song idea's in a while, i wanted to know if LSD, would be a good mind-opening expierence.
the only advice I can give you about acid is dont seek it out. Let it find you and the trip will be much more special for you. Acid is a drug that will change you forever, so dont take it lightly. If you are trying to expand your mind within the legal realm, look up erowid.org. theres morning glory seeds, peruvian torch, and several herbs that will alter your consciousness positively.
Well while it is definitly mind opening, I'm not sure if wanting to come up with some songs is the best idea to take acid for the 1st time.
If you think some lsd is gonna somehow turn you into a master songwriter you're gonna be disappointed.
Maybe you should do shrooms first and then move onto acid if you want something more intense. :guitar:
if its true that youve not had much musical inspiration lately, you will probably have many other things on your mind other than music
You won't magically come up with songs while you're on LSD. There is no drug out there that will do that. Acid however could open your mind to different ideas which could later become songs. Trust me when I say you're not going to want to write songs down while on LSD. Like said before just be aware that it has the potential to completely change your life.
ya, alright, see, its not just about the music, i want a real mind-opening experience, im smart, and im imaganitive, and i really think that this can open up some new things, but if im tripping, would i remember anything thats happened when its done? and how long does a trip last? p.s. thanx for replying
dont listen to these people who say you wont be able to write or play amazing music with LSD. LSD is most definitely a great way to experience music! i would be careful with your intentions. make sure your heart is in the right place. LSD can and will if you let it, turn you into a wonderful person and a wonderful musician. so many factors come into play here - why do you want to be great musician? if you want something bad enough and put your mind to it you can achieve anything and especially when it comes to music, LSD is a wonderful way to enhance and possibly speed up your natural process. depending on your intentions this may or may not be very difficult for you to achieve. playing music on LSD can be a very difficult process in that you may not feel like playing or you might not even think of it. if and when you do get around to playing some music you will notice something wonderful about LSD. you will feel like you have superhuman abilities as you play like you have never played before - you will feel a connection to the music better then you have ever felt before. the wonderful part about all of this is that you will take some of this with you after your trip. in the right set and setting it is truly amazing what LSD can do for you, your musical abilities and especially your songwriting. you wouldnt want to play guitar for the whole trip - you would get lost. what i found works best(for me anyways) is waiting until closer to the end of the trip or when you are peaking. dont try to play after only an hour into the trip - wait at least four hours. it is a long trip so you will have lots of time. it is very important that you do not force it - dont try to play if you are having a difficult trip and dont be upset if you try to play and its just not working. if you try to play and you find it too difficult put it down and come back to it later. i am a musician/ singer/songwriter. i have been playing for over 15 years and doing LSD for 10+ years. i think i have had more trips that i didnt play music then trips that i did. when i do play music on LSD it is truly a wonderful experience - some of my songs were written during or just after a very powerful trip. i love what LSD has done for who i am and my music. many of the great musicians used LSD - many of the greatest songs ever written have LSD to thank for inspiration. having said all that i would still recommend that you wait until you move out of your parents house or until you have someplace you can be where you will not be disturbed. please dont do it in your parents house unless you are absolutely sure that you will not have to interact with them for at least 12hours. you didnt list your age but by the sounds of it your parents have way too much control over your life. wait until you are old enough to make your own rules before you start experimenting with LSD. the last thing you want is your parents putting you into a hospital (sounds like they are the 'type'). anyways, i hope these guys didnt scare you off. you were right to think that LSD could be good for your music and inspiration.
As far as music goes, it depends, obviously. Some trips, with the right dose, music becomes otherworldy and much more intense. On other trips, music is just a hollow, boring arrangement of scaled or repetitive noise. I believe that both ends of the spectrum, however, give a person a much broader comprehension of just what music actually is. If you try and feel it properly, you will find that you, yourself, are nothing more than vibration, and therefor, music. And someone is conducting you, somehow.
If your taking LSD for the first time I have three pieces of advice 1. Go where the trip takes you, don't feel like you have to play music if you just don't feel like its working out. Sometimes I play music incredibly tripping and sometimes I can't play at all 2. Try not to go in really wanting or expecting anything from what you have read. The first time I tripped that is exactly what I did and I got very little out of it. In the long run it didn't really matter, but it was just a bummer until I understood what I did wrong. And if this does happen to you don't worry about it and let yourself feel let down, I find that the more I trip the stronger they get (in general and when theyre spaced out) 3. You don't want to even have to worry about your parents, so don't be in the same house as them. What I do is hop off my roof at night while my parents sleep, this way I don't have to worry about how much noise I make and its just not an issue.
Thank you everyone for your help, i hope to conversize with all of you later in my journys. -Love Music, Love Life
