hey all ive been smoking grass for about 2.5 years. i smoke every day, maybe one or two hits every night from my trusty pipe. it always feels great and i love doing it. last night something really strange happened. i smoked the usual amount and it felt the same as always for about 20 minutes. but then i started feeling like my stomach muscles are tensing up. i didnt pay attention to that (i never pay much attention to my body when im on drugs) and continued watching tv. but after a few minutes i started feeling that my legs are shaking. i became aware that i have this uncontrolable muscle spasm in my legs. moreover, it became hard to swallow. i drank some water and tried to fall asleep. after a while i succeeded. when i woke up, i felt absolutely fine. could anyone tell me if they had such an experience and why this happened? could this be related to marijuana or could this be something else and it was just conincidental that i smoked weed that night? any help would be greatly appreciated. i love getting high and i would really hate to stop doing it but before i know more about that happened to me last night i dont want to continue.
Sounds like you just got pretty high. I sometimes get slight muscle spasms, and have gotten extreme cotton mouth like that. The stomach pains might've just been from having a too empty stomach or something. I wouldn't worry about it. And you only take one or two hits? What the fuck, that doesn't even seem like it would be enough to get you high.
thanks so much for the reply! i actually ate a lot righ after taking a hit. then after i ate i took one more. so it might have been not an empty but a full stomach. as for the amount i smoke, yeah i take 1 or 2 hits, but i hold them for a long long time. so i inhale and then hold the smoke in my lungs as long as possible. thats why i get really stoned off a very small amount of grass. before when i was in university i used to smoke entire joints, but now i find that taking a few long hits actually gets you equally high and costs a lot less coz you waste a lot less grass.
yea it happens to me sometimes its no biggy....i have muscle spasms even when im not smoking so seriously you shouldnt worry about it.
If I get slightly chilly when really stoned I get the shivvers really badly. But as soon as Im warm they go away.
When I first started smoking for like the first month I would spasm all over at random when I toked with my buds, I always thought it felt really good, mostly my back would spasm and make me contort all sorts of weird ways which always drew many laughs, I think it might just be your muscles relaxing and saying "thanks bud"
thanks so much guys for all your replies! i really appreciate it. just ive been smoking for a while and in extreme amounts (5 joints per night) when i was in my last year of university and i never felt anything like that. the only effect grass produced on me was total relaxation and interest in doing my homework (english lit major). but last night i felt like im about to die and it scared the shit out of me. i mean im in bed and i cant swallow or breathe coz my throat seems like its just a tiny hole. and on top of that im spasming uncontrolably. "death is near" my mind said. heh p.s. nice picture of morrison, btw. i wish he was here to give me advice. i bet he smoked 20 times more weed than all of my stoner friends combined. lol
when i drop acid i stop moving altogether. i find that if you move too much you are missing all the fun stuff going on around you
That happens sometimes when you don't know whats going on and you're high... just don't worry about that stuff. I usually get muscle spasms when I'm high and I always twitch a lot too. It might just have been the strain or something that made it do something different to you... but I think its a pretty common symptom
Yea its a funny thing how different bodies react to things when i smoke i tend to shiver or get cold but the other weekend i had a similar occurrence of muscle spasms in my leg. They weren't intense but definitely noticeable. I think this is normal to have especially if you play a sport. If anyone has ever been sore and had intense muscle spasms from a quick jerk of the leg, i think its the same kind of thing. I think potassium is supposed to help prevent lactic acid build up. In my case it was such a mild case that it was almost a good thing because when i woke up the next day i still had the minor spasm to remind me. lol
