just wondering who else out there enjoi Animal Collective,THEY ARE AMAZING been my favorite trippin music for a couple years now Peace and green everyone
Yeah a couple a times now-and they keep getting better at least IMO Purple bottles is such a rad fucking song
I will always associate them with a brief romance I had, the week before I left my commune. When I saw them, last month, it was in this tiny nightclub in my hometown. I shit a brick when I heard that they were going to be playing while I was visiting. The audience went apeshit and started a huge mosh pit in the middle of the room.
Fuck yeah, man! That album was my obsession for the entire month before I left my commune. It might still be my obsession, if I still had access to a copy of it.
I think Feels is pretty amazing, but I saw them live on Conan, and they were bland. I heard their new single, and it's okay, but not on par with Feels. I have their recent People EP, too, and it's nothing great, either. :\
yeah, they need a bigger band... they do a lot of layering for their albums, so sometimes they can't pull off the same sound live. animal collective is freaking sweet though! i like "sung tongs" a lot and i've enjoyed listening to "strawberry jam".... blah blah, too accessible... i think the vocals on "strawberry jam" are much more disciplined than their other albums.
i downloaded their new album strawberry jam but i haven't really listened to it yet, though i have heard a few songs i can't draw a conclusion but sung tongs, before feels, was and is a pretty great album too but feels is just awlsome.
i just got strawberry jam on itunes and love it, ive recently been getting into electronic music and loving it. I think if people enjoy this band they might like black moth super rainbow which i recently saw with the flaming lips and was one of the best shows ever.
I haven't heard Sung Tongs, but I've heard a lot of good things about it. Someday I'll get to it, I guess. I've heard Black Moth Super Rainbow--it's just okay, for me. The pop songs are few and far between, and the instrumentals are just kind of... blah. I prefer real psychedelia, a la 1966-1968.
