does anyone live here? cos i'm moving here in FOUR days... eek!! going to salford uni to study music. woooragh! Jaz
Teehee! I went to Salford University! The music courses are highly regarded, and living so close to Manchester is fabulous - so much to do that you can go out every day of the week for a different night and different feeling. The live music scene is also rosy, so you'll love that there is so much going on all the time. Whilst you're there, take advantage of being so close to Liverpool and Leeds too - both lovely cities. And take the slower train across to Sheffield at some point - it goes through some absolutely beautiful countryside... You'll love it, I'm sure! x
You do. It dips into the top of Derbyshire and you go through the peak district and there's loads of hills and stuff. It's really nice
awdude, i've just left behind a large scene from my years living in Salford. I recommend The Crescent pub near the University. In town I used to meet up with peeps at The Salisbury (near Oxford rd train station - down the steps) I'll get in touch with some old friends there. They studied music too. If they're having a party I'll let you know.
I live mear Manchester... There's JOsie, Power_13, Moonlightstars, Mercy etc that live close too as we said at Luchis Birthday Party we should meet up! Good Luck with your move bud Love Clairexxx
thanks guys thats really cool to know, we'll have to have a big big meetup sometime, and drive all the way to leicester to get the lovely luchi too! woohoo i'm so excited! Jaz
I think we should get a gathering sorted for sometime like november or something?? or maybe just a meet in a town/city or something..it seems that the majority of us live within a small(ish) distance... just a thought
my brother starts at manchester met uni on monday...doing something media related... if any of you meet him he's called vinny and he's pretty cool...
hehe ok. i don't know the whereabouts of manchester uni to salford, but i'll keep an eye out for random people called Vinny... woo ha ha jaz
I live in Leicester now! Nice place mostly. I used to visit The Crescent when at Salford - it's a nice place - proper pub rather than bar-esque. I'm in the midst of a reminiscence now! I loved the Salisbury too - and the Fab Cafe...spent many happy hours in such places!
Leicester's fine - the area around De Montfort is good, and you'll no doubt come to know the West End well! If you want any advice on where's good and where's terrible, you know who to ask!! You must be excited and looking forward to it so much! I'm sure you'll love it and do great!
Argh is there some parts of Leicester I haven't seen or something cos everyone on the forums seems to have nothing but nice things to say about it Am I missing something?
Of course there are nice parts! There are horrible parts too, but you just don't have to go to them! Having lived in quite a few cities over Blighty, I can say that Leicester - for me, anyway - isn't a bad place to be... Most of it's about the people you meet, anyway, and there's a nice underground scene in Leicester which makes it more of a home.
I go to Manchester Uni, started last year. I'm about to move into my house which is in Withington, a groovy little suburb. I love Manc, you'll love the indie clubs! And Affleck's..., oh and everything
