so i bought this little mouse to get it high on marijuana but its so cute im gonna keep it. so i tossed it in a rubbermaid container with a bottle cap full of water and an old clean sock.. and a bit of cracker. i dont know what to feed it or how to make it drink. i threw it like a peanut incase its hungry ANY IDEAS. COME ON YOU HIPPIES! if you dont want this thing to die lemmie know what stuff i can feed it from my kitchen,.
Get some rodent food from a pet store also wood blocks to keep it teeth healthy. Rodents that have been in captivity are used to drinking out of bottles with a lick spout. Dont feed it anything from the kitchen.
I think it's stupid to get an animal high. I haven't done that since I was a kid. Here is what to feed it. http://mouseranch.com/FYI/diet.html Don't use cedar or pine bedding, use aspen. Get a water bottle, a wheel (at least 6 inches) and a house. I've never used it but it's reported to work well. Keep leaving food and water out for him until you catch him. paul
Don't feed the mouse cheese. Although many assume we like cheese, actually it is bad for mice digestive system. Mice are portable and tiny so we eat very little. Give that mouse a partner so it can have a cellmate. Buy a nice small cage. Mice are afraid of open spaces.
Additional: Giving any animal drugs is animal cruelty. If you give the mouse drugs, it will simply die, perhaps in an agonising way! Mice have feelings too
Mice don't like being stretched out, and hung by the tail. They also don't like being on shoulders. They are afraid of heights. Mice are curious so if you let it run around the house, it runs the risk of getting a boot coming down on its face or bumping into the cat. I prefer rats, great for shoulder riding, larger and not so delicate to handle. When I have held mice, I often wondered what I was actually holding on to.
I miss the mice i had wen i was a kid! I had loads, but my favourites were 2 girls, a black and white and a grey and white, and they did crazy things like Tarzan swing from the ropes i put in their cage and hang upside down. And the loved eachother very much, and i loved them I used to put them in my mums bathtub and let them run...she never used it to save water, she had showers, so it didnt matter they peed in it. Once her cat got in there but hes a very slow thinker, big fluffy indoor cat with no brain, and he just sat there watching You didnt need to know all that, but anyway Mice are great to live with!
Mice are easier to look after than rats. But I like something to hold onto. I know mice are about the size of an overweight thumb. And mice are very delicate. Bones you see. Tiny bones break very easily. Mice make good pets because the cage doesn't have to be that big. Infact anything larger will scare them. I know mice enjoy being fed and watered and kept in shade in the heat of summer. If mice get bad, there are restraining techniques that you can use with your thumb and finger. One of them is quite severe, but I prefer to hold them at the nip of neck and hold the tail between fingers. Eyes should not bulge.
I kept three girls in a forty-gallon, and they were not scared. They had a mouse maison, mousegloos, wheels, a whole amusement park and they loved it. Large cages don't scare mice as a rule, but it can take them time to get comfortable with all the open space. They just need a hidey-house or something that they can make into a snug sleepy spot. Mice are delicate, yes, which is why you need to treat them as delicate creatures. Rats are delicate, too. Mice are usually more aloof than rats, but I had a mouse, Goldie, who loved people and would look forward to being held by me and any human guests we had. She was the perfect embassador mouse. A mouse should never be restrained except to administer medication or treat a little injury. Physically "punishing" a mouse is cruel and unnecessary. If you have a biter, there are things you can do to help the mouse and make him feel more secure, or alternative ways to handle him. Not even the most "vicious" mouse (or rat) should ever be disciplined physically.
Precisely...theyre mice, theyre not going to understand. Itd just be senseless. When our bunnies are "Naughty", chewing furniture WE happen to have labelled as ours and forbidden chew material, we say their name, and then "no". If that fails we make noises..."chchch", like that. If theyre persistent we go up to them and give them a very light bum tap in a playful way, or simply section off the object they seem so keen on. This is enough. They dont have our kind of understanding of things like "punishment", and with a biting small animal itd only make them A LOT worse because of their fear and confusion I never had any problem with any of my mice tough and i kept loads growing up, theyre surprisingly tolerant little creatures
I like mice. They look so small but they always seem to huddle up into a Mouse pyramid or group hug. Mice are so small that I would probably end up treading on it accidentally. I would find it difficult to give it a hug or a stroke. I mean mice are so small, it would be like having a stag beetle for a pet.But mice are cute. Just look at my gf.
