You might check craig'slist for eugene and portland. right now isn't a time you wantto be stuck homeless in OR, though. It's getting cold, and very wet. Sarting in another month or two, it will be freezing and snowing in alot of areas. Summer might be a better tme, if you can't hook something up. I do occasionally see places on craigslist offering room and board with jobs..
Might check with some of the organic farms near portland and eugene. Soetimes they do room and board for help picking, planting etc

Deffinitely wait until the weather is warmer but I recommend you go for it. Get your GED first it will be much easier to find work.

When I was 20 yrs old I decided I would save some money and move out to California on a whim. I had no relatives out there and the only person I knew was a girl I met in an AOL chat room. It turned out to be an incredible experience. I ended up living there for three years. It was a struggle at first and I spent many nights sleeping in my car and public parks but I eventually found a good job, got a CA drivers liscense, established residence and made lots of friends. I loved it!

I eventually decided to move back to TN just because I missed my family and its so much cheaper to live here, I dont have to work as much.

good luck bro, always follow your heart even if it doesnt seem wise.
