I didn't know where else to put this...

Who has had experience with skydiving? I'm looking to do my first tandem skydive sometime soon, but am really nervous. I'm afraid that once I'm up in the plane I won't have the nerve to jump. Any advice? Do you think skydiving is, in generally, pretty safe? The company I'd be working with is very reputable. Still, I'm terrified! [IMG]

I did a tandem dive a few years back. It was scary in the plane, but I never thought about not jumping. The rush was incredible, I was on a huge high for about an hour afterwards. It is something that I am proud of myself for doing.

I think that in general it is pretty safe as long as you go with a good company. There is always the risk of death, things can and sometimes do go wrong, but the chance is pretty low. You are much more likely to die in a car accident or something, but people drive every day.

i want to skydive so bad, but i dont know how to do it...like where to go for lessons or what ever. But it seems so fun! You should deffianalty do it. Ya know that saying, fear is nothing but fear itself (yeah, i probably said that all wrong, but its the same idea. lol). just put your fears aside and go for it, it will be worth it. Let me know how it goes! :)

Yeah, I looked into it.. I found a place called Jump STL, but unforunatley, you gotta be 18 years or older to skydive. :(
