WOW Talent is not even important anymore! wtf?

I always knew with these poppy type "artists" that talent wasn't in great supply and that it was more about image, but it's getting even worse! This morning I had the TV on and saw this awful girl singing live named Ashley Tinsdale. I've never heard of her but damn she is horrible. She hardly hit any notes, was way off key, and had no sense of dynamics. I've been singing for 8 years now and was a trained choir girl. Seeing that people like this are get ting famous is insulting.
Ugh, disgusting.

There are untalented and unworthy artists in every kind of music.
The trick is picking out the jewels. And yes, pop music has jewels as well.
They just don't show up in the top 40 so often.

Yeah it does seem that pop has more famous people that lack talent than other genres...probably because it is based on image so much that vocal talent doesn't even matter.

 

For some nice, not so well-known and very cool pop, REAL pop, check Tiger Trap, The Pipettes and The Softies. Awesome. Oh and it's the same girl singing in Tiger Trap and the Softies. The bands are also broadly similar in sound, only Tiger Trap is mostly upbeat and catchy, The Softies are usually a bit sad, and a great deal slower, but it's become one of my most favourite bands in a very short time.

Screw those faces on T.V. Counter culture means just that.Make your own culture go underground where only a special few can go.Then this T.V. crap won't affect you so much.Sooner or later people will see what you got going on, and you'll have to contend with the wannabes.But you were there first so you call the shots.DIG?

 

Ashley Tisdales (i think thats who you mean) an actress - she was in High School Musical. And shes in The Suite Life of Zack and Cody.

when did those disgraces of music EVER have talent on their records? from the first one on, they have been nothing but rubbish for bubble gum chewing middle school girls. who in the hell in their right mind would ever pay money for this junk? pop sounds exactly the same to me, im sorry. except with a different singer. all they sing about is boys (or girls), and how much they miss/love them. Excuse me while i throw up all over my shirt....

 

Yeah I saw her on TV for the first time last night and yeah she was AWFULL and I love how the music video has her blatantly spraying Lacoste perfume, shows what a little corporate whore she is.

 

Bah... that's why I don't watch TV anymore... I'm glad I'm not even aware of this.
