Can a baby be born outside of a wome? Like would it be possibe to make some sort of synthetic amniotic sac filled with amniotic fluid and then insert a fertilized egg. It would be like the same as inside of a human just not in a human. They could then feed it nutrients and stuff through a tube connected to the umbilical cord. This would be really weird and might even have been done already, who knows. I don't know what would be a reason for this, just wondering. So is it possible?
theoreticly possible, eventually. so far even clones have had to be emplanted in utero. just don't quite have all the details down to make a fully functional artificial womb yet, as far as i know. probably only a matter of time till all the details get worked out. most of the time will likely be that there are more of them, details, then even people dealing with that challenge have as yet catalogued, let alone solved. reason: tailor made critters for space colonists or something, where there isn't room on board for live momma critters for them or something like that. otherwise, surrogate mother wombs for cloned critters are simpler and easier and less the challange of making an artificial one work. chronowarps we don't have yet, even the beginings of that tecnology, which would be another potential aplication, accellerated growth cloning for macro organisms. micro-clones, can of course be lab grown and have been for decades. larger, more complex organisms just have MUCH more complex needs. =^^= .../\...
Its not uncommon for a child to be born at 22 weeks and survive. They have to stay in the hospital for several months to continue to develop. Though not common, I believe that there have been babies born at 20 weeks that have survived. The normal gestational period is 40 weeks. So we're getting closer.
