Remember John and Yoko’s ‘Year of Piece’? ‘Hair Piece’, ‘Bed Piece’?

Remaining together, growing hair together, as long as ‘Year of Piece’ lasted…

It is a perfect love story, a pattern… It lasted for a year… But why just for a year?

I believe that there is much more to it… Most people at some point of life wanted to have one true everlasting relationship. Most people wanted to live a life of peace.

    ‘Hair Peace’-’Bed Peace’…

    Imagine:

A couple starts to grow their hairs together. They make pledge one to the other that they won’t cut it as long as they are in relationship… Years go by, their hair grows… There are ups and downs… One can destroy the relationship in a second, just as long hair could be cut in a second… After many years they bride their hairs in one longest braid together…

Is that a perfect body art? Performance? Not something you can sell…

Or is it just piece and love?

My wife and I shaved our heads bald about three years ago with the idea that neither would cut our hair again. It's been great to grow our hair from bald together.

    why bald? starting over?
If I ever suggested cutting my hair, my sweetie would probably cry.

DW had never shaved her head and had always wanted to. She had never even really cut it since we both cut out our dreads fifteen years prior. It was during a time when I was just buzz cutting my hair regularly and she decided to go for it. And yes there were some tears involved. It's been pretty cool growing it out together, but DW certainly wished she hadn't at times during the awkward growth stages.

I guess it is just fresh start... Doing something together from the begining...
I am a big fan of long hair, but what I had in mind is more spiritual...

Haha I wouldn't dare to shave my hair off ever haha. Its a nice idea, growing it together, but really, I'd die without hair or something. Me and my boyfriend both ahve long hair, but we're not growing it longer together, jst both keeping it long. I do ccasionally braid his hair into mine, but his is only midback length or a bit longer then that so at some point I end up attached to his head haha. Not the most romantic way, but still fun.

Hey, that's pretty neat. Both my partner and I have long hair, and neither of us have cut it since we met... So I guess we are growing it long together. :) Ayzcrava... That's cute, attaching yourself to his head. *haha* I guess if we ever did cut our hair it would be neat to save a piece and of each and braid it together. When ever I think about cutting my hair I think about all my hair has experienced, like the birth and growth of my kids, meeting the love of my life and stuff like that... I'd hate to just throw it away. Anyway, this is a sweet thread... It makes my sentimental weirdo self get all mushy inside. *smile*

Aww, how sweet :) DH & I grow our hair together... but he's been a security-officer off & on where he needs to cut his hair to get the job. (sigh) When he needs to have his hair cut, I'll cut about a foot as a "sympathy cut" but he's begged me not to have my hair cut TOO short (which is above bra-strap to him) so that's all the closer I've gotten to cutting it all off.

DH is currently growing his hair out again. It's note quite to his shoulders, and my baby sis has threatened to braid our hair together for our 15th anniversary & take our picture. We're both looking forward to seeing how it'll turn out - we've got just over 2 years to go... and that's a LOT of hair-growth!
    love,
    mom
