yea absolutely agree
i always find the best music on stages in the woods, given away for free...
compare that to the typical teen pop crap with absolutely meanningless lyrics & a 300 dollar ticket price...just makes ya wonder
thats exactly why we want to open this theater..a place for real musicicians to sing theyre hearts out not just fill theyre wallets

 

mostly mainstream
there is always gonna be some stuff worthwhile
but the general trends towards pumping out catchy meanningless garbage with very lil inspiration..

 

Went to see three bands this weekend for €5,-, bought an LP for 10, they blew me away and shaked my soul. Only the last band annoyed me, they were as loud as the other two (very loud), but the music was uninteresting and unoriginal. Point is you can still see good and new bands for low prices if you look for it.

Of course the majority is looking to become famous and they don't even grasp our attention with their pale blend of familiar tunes, but it's about the good ones. I'm pretty positive about nowadays music, even if I like less then 1% of all the stuff that's being released.

I'm sure there is good music out there, but you wouldnt know it because people with talent dont get signed haha.

 

Haha well, me too. It is optimism. But you know, please be aware that there is so very much music being released that that 1% of good music is actually quite a lot of stuff to listen to. It's just a bummer we have to put more effort in it to run into it.
I bet in the sixties there was also a lot of shit. Now when the music industry is even more sick then in the sixties (but where they at least were paying more attention to the sound then to the glamour/image) it's not really the mainstream where you should look anymore.

I sing, I do poetry, I rap also.

My favorite thing to do is play violin though, oh what a sound we would be.
What a sound you already are! This is great music, please inform me of when your first album is to be released.

Oh,this can be done alright.Years ago,in Lincoln City,Ore,I found a church that was empty and for sale and I proposed to get a bunch of people together and buy it.We did and made it a co-op with healthy food,vitamins,lots of home made stuff--cookies,bread ,ect.ect, and I was going to show movies in the main hall.A lot of us hippie types put in a lot of work on it after it was bought and it was(and is)successful.It's not a co-op anymore, but the point is with enthusiasm,people to help and of course some bucks,you folks can get her done.Good luck and keep up the good work ,woodstock,Eagle and all.-----(Find some donors that will help on the money side)

oh & on the subject of her music & voice i think shed like me to mention this..

i know its hard to not rave over that amazing voice..but try to ignore the voice & pay attention to the lyrics..its not about her or how she sounds, but what shes got to say..
she only sings with all her heart because she believes somuch in her message..
she kindawished shesounded worse so ppl would pay more attention to the words then the sound..
personaly i think its all one, her passion fills every word which fills her voice with its power & emotion..which really gets the message across..

 

youre musics truly amazing and not just because you have a good voice but because it has meaning and you want to make a difference. Youre lyrics are really powerful and you have my support all the way. I've already added you and now am gonna be sure to tell my friends about it. Dont let anyone bring down your dreams. Youve gotta start somewhere right? plus with the suport you have from soaring eagle and everyone else it seems as though you have a pretty good start. Im looking foward to hearing more about how its coming along.

dont really have much in the way of updates except thatthe cd should be in the final stages, getting the copywrites finnished then the cd's ready to go out..dont really have a time frame exactly yet, but theresa good chance i maybe goin down there in a couple weeks, & hoping theyre close to ready by them..
as for the theater itself, still waiting to get more info from the current owner..hoping to hear more on monday or so.
other then that things are going fairly smoothly

sidenote.. woodstock wrote a new song a couple nights ago which maybe one of her bests
