I find it hard to swollow that the true hippies of the sixties are all passing from hippe to yuppies. as for me i have my little world of a closet hippie. i'm 47yrs. old my hair is long,i still love to party and i still follow rock music and yes i still get high. i see that the circle is comming around slowlly and kids are looking for a direction to follow. what we need is a town to call home and start to grow as one
Hello there Granpametal & Welcome to the forums. Glad ya found us and hope you stick around awhile! Check out the old hippies forum here. Peaceful thoughts your way.... Farmout
no offence..but I think that new hippies need not only new direction but a new everything. some ideals of peace love etc will always be there, but like the music...rock music as it as in 60s is pretty much dead. All you can find now is commercialized crap written only for money. I found that underground rave parties and electronic music can be a good platform to build on. Let's just face it old era of hippies with rock'n'roll etc is at its end (that music is not as actual now as it used to be), now is the time to take the best from that era like view on life and world and wrap it around new not old music and that way we'll get new culture. So, again...everything has its time. Now is the time of new hippies...and old hippies should help the new ones to emerge, but not force their "old" music (no offense I really liked 60's music..but the time is different now) on the new era. if anybody knows what psy trance culture is then they will probably understand where I am coming from...
