Does methadone block or do anything to other opiates? Like for example i took 10mgs methadone this morning around 8:30am and just took 5 Hydrocodone 7.5/325's (11:45AM)... im pretty sure 10mg methadone won't be a blocking dose and the hydros i just ate should still effect me fully, right?
swim went to a methadone clinic for about a year and every time swim tried other opiates within the same day they were pretty much non existant, but swim was taking 80mgs of done. there were a couple of times swim injected oxy or K4s, felt them a little, but just ended up puking for like 30 minutes even with swims high tolerance. its safe to say that with higher amounts of done in your system your just waisting your other opiates. and yes done and benzos could be potentially fatal as well as benzos with other large amounts of opiates, especially if you are injecting the opiates. you could end up on the floor with blue lips because your respiratory system shutting down. swims seen it happen. but neways that has nothing to do with the original topic.
genius is right !!! Ounce your body gets use to the Methadone you won't feel shit especially if you are snorting or eating the opiates. Even when shooting Herion now I only feel the rush the dope hitting my systum from injecting it and that is not even as good as it use to be before the Methadone, I don't get high when on Methadone. I can shoot a bundle of Herion AKA 10 bags in a night and not feel shit because the Meth blocks the opiate receptors. Bottom line its a waste of money to do dope or other opiates when you are on methadone !!!!
Shocbomb: You are absolutely correct, which is why I highly recommend addicts to secure a steady supply of methadone; it does wonders for helping you to manage the impulses of addiction. It has its own problems, but it is well worth it if you take care of yourself and take calcium supplements. Of course, if you use it to manage your addiction, you should try to ween off of methadone as soon as you feel confident in your ability to resist temptation. Back on topic: it's a waste. I don't know if 10mg one day is enough to have a weakening effect on other opiates, but I know for sure in higher doses it does. On the other hand, doctors often prescribe fast-acting opiates (eg, roxicodone for "breakthrough pain") along with methadone. That seems to suggest that it can still have analgesic effects even if feelings of euphoria are reduced or eliminated.
Haji- Great points you are right Methadone it does have its problums. Its hard to kick, its a pain in the ass getting to the Clinic every day etc, But at least I can live a normal life now that I am on Methadone. I don't have to wake up every morning and rob and steal and think of ways to fuck people over, I don't have go crazy trying to find a ride to my Dope spot which is in the South Bronx which is a Horrible Ghetto. I don't have to woory about getting arrested when taking my methadone. The benafits out weight the Negative effects buy far. Before I got on Methadone I was a piece of shit Drug addcit who would of been Homeless or dead or in prison. it was only a matter of time. Now I feel like myself again a normal person. If you are a bad Opiate addcit Methadone can change your life !!!! PS- I am going down on my dose I am on 40mg now. I hope to be off the shit in a year or two.
Fuck Methadone...don't start taking methadone to get off other opiates!! ITS WAY worse to kick mdone then any other opiate...if u really want to do a detox using a drug then go get some Suboxone, it works wonderful and gets u out of the habit of feeling high on opiates, they dont give a rush or euphoria or pain relief, basically just take away the physical symptoms of opiate withdrawal...but it works soo good! DONT MESS WITH METHADONE, trust me.
JahRed24 Suboxone is not as effective for long term high dosage opiate users such as IV users or people who use very high dosage of opiates for long periods of time. I can show you countless reports and articles on this. It was also talked about on HBO's special addiction, They went to a Doctor who gave Suboxone and he said it was not work good for IV users and long term opiate addcits. Methadone still has the highest success rate for those type of users.Most places that give buprenorphine and suboxone won't give it to you unless you are down to 30mgs or less of methadone, Even with users they let onb they make sure you are in withdrawl before you can go on it. Because it won't do shit if you are on a higher dose. They know they need to get you on a lower dose. I took buprenorphine for about 6 months when I was sniffing dope back when I was about 21, And It did not block the cravings or opiate receptors like Methadone does for me now. I have less cravings now on methaonde and I went on The meth clinic shooting about 8 to 10 days of dope a day then I did sniffing about 2 to 3 bags a day on buprenorphine. I would tell any person to try all options to get off the shit before going Suboxone or Methadone. If you do want to go on one try them out see what one works for you. The Bottom line is don't fuck with opiates and don't get a fucking Habbit if you do it Sucks BAD !!!!!!!!!
i was banging(NEEDLE AND THE SPOON) 240mgs of oc a day and subs work fine for me, im on 16mgs a day, methadone works great for some people, ive been down that road, the only difference for me is that i wasnt using a needle i was at the done clinic a little over a year before i went back to smack
genius-The bottom line is you are correct, its what ever works for the individual. The important thing is the person gets there life back and stops being a Junky. Different things work for different people I know for me that I would be dead right now or in prison if I did not stop !!!
