Ok so this may sound gross but since we are on the subject thought I 'd put it out there! Some may know of this. I was getting my hair cutt & the lady used to work in a spa doing colon cleanses,,,,so this man came in and when she inserted the tube,,she noticed his bung hole was very CLEAN,,,meaning like a little babies,,pink,,,NOT dark in color like most bung holes GROSSED OUT YET? So she HAD to ask him HOW IS IT SO CLEAN? He was a doctor and he said he uses Selsum Blue down there! The dandruff madicated shampoo!!Claims it has some sort of anti-fungla/ anti- bacteria agent that works in wet, moist areas. So the hair lady IMMEDIATLY went and bought some and LOVED IT! As she is telling the story,,,all the girls were laughing and shaking their head! THEY WERE ALL HOOKED ON IT! They said it is THE MOST CLEAN FEELING EVER! So what did I do? You guessed it,, bought a bottle of it!$7-8 BUCKS but what the hell! They were right! I have never felt so tinglly clean! She said to use it all over down there ,,front & back! WOW I am hooked ~ no clue if the chemicals are bad or not but needless to say ,,, a handleful of my friends ,,,,and GUYS too and all doing the selsum blue wash!It is a common inside joke amoungst are friends! I have a separate loofa thingy for down there ,,,just wash like normal in the shower,,,then use the other loofa & selsum blue down there ,,front & back! TRY IT! ALSO ,,get the menthol kind!
Thing is, I posted about this on some thread called "It's called a vagina"...and got totally slammed for it. ::shrug::
Sorry valkyrie.... if I'd seen your post I'd have ranted then too, heh. I haven't been perusing the women's forum for terribly long though. That's awful that you got slammed for it. How could it be bad to be accurately describing your body? Vulva on the outside, vagina on the inside, it's quite simple but even our education system doesn't teach it (I learnt it through a book on sexuality, even though we had "lifestyles" as a class waaaay back in gr9) er, anyways... keep up the biologically correct terminology!
i'd just like to thank you all for ALL of your comments. haha, yes, it is Bob Marley in my signiture, and no, i'm sorry, you cannot have a piece, he is alll mine, and sharing men isnt in my vocab... haha, sorry. but you can have a cup of sugar anytime... so, anyway, i would really REALLY love to go out and get all the things you guys mentioned, and even go to a doctor and get something to aid me in my problem... however, i have stopped using my usual soap, and just rinsing (i would LOVE to get my hands on some good soap soon, i cant deal with the non-soapy thingo, somehow water just doesnt cut it). but, if i explain to you where i am residing you'll understand my vaginal (vulval... or whatever - i think i might need tutorials in vaginal jargon) treatment issues. So i am in the one of the poorest cities in Israel. It is a developing city, with nearly or even more than half the population under the poverty line. SO, tending to the vaginal issue's of a "rich" (yeah right) foreigner from some far off paradise, who probably has the BEST vagina in the city isnt really such a priority. but i will get it sent up from home. oh the joy of having parents, and a postal service. hey, maybe i should get a medal... "cities best vagina"...
Sweetie, a UTI has NOTHING to do with your VAGINA. It is your urethra...urinary tract...where you piss from. It is very important that if you do have a UTI, that you get antibiotics to clear it up. Or else you will get a bladder infection, or worse a kidney infection. UTI-urinary tract infection-not related to STI. So if that's what you are worried about, don't be. But, you need to make sure that it is not the problem!
OK, very basic terms -- does it burn where the pee comes out, or does the entire region itch/burn? Or, exploring with your fingers, are you experiencing discomfort where the hole is big enuf for your finger to slide in? If you have some burning/itching where your finger slips in, you are dealing with some vaginal issue (such as a yeast infection, which is not generally a sexually transmitted infection). If the entire region itches/burns regularly, I would suspect you are dealing with some sort of irritant, like soap or anything else you might have put down there (I can't put my hand in that region to scratch or whatever for at least 5 min after putting on moisturizing lotion because I'm unusually sensitive to something in most lotions). However, I am concerned that you may have a UTI because you said it burns when you pee. Here is a link to one photograph labeled with the correct terminology: http://www.the-clitoris.com/1r4/anatomy/disectb.jpg And a list of links to other anatomic drawings & photos: www.the-clitoris.com/f_html/anatomy.htm The reason some of us are urging you to see a doctor is because we are not talking about having "the BEST vagina in the city". If this has cleared up since you quit using soap, great. If it still burns when you pee, you could be dealing with a serious infection -- something that can become LIFE THREATENING if left untreated. A UTI is relatively simple to treat with basic antibiotics. Left untreated, it can develop into a bladder infection... If that goes untreated, it can develop into a kidney infection & do serious damage to one or both of those vital organs. Again, I hope that you are not dealing with a UTI, that it is something as simple as no longer using a harsh soap on your genital area. However, if it does not go away, don't just ignore it. If you start to get any of the symptoms I will list below, please see a doctor: -- frequent need to urinate (pee) -- difficulty urinating despite a strong urge to go (you gotta go NOW, but only a couple of drops come out, tho it feels like more should come out) -- bloody or cloudy urine -- fever -- painful urination -- back pain (not caused by anything obvious, like menstrual cramps, of course) For more information, visit www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/urinarytractinfections.html
Yeah, I'm not sure how to respond to that one. It gives me the same impression as those "summer's eve douche" commercials -- sure, you may smell and/or feel fresher, but it just doesn't sound healthy in the long run (if ya don't know, douching is BAD because it throws off the natural balance that is supposed to be there -- the good bacteria & the pH balance & whatnot)... But, I don't have the facts to back it up (wonder if ANYONE has done studies that could answer this), so I hadn't said anything...
I have never douched and will NOT ever doche. But the selsum is on the outside only ,,,just like soap. I figure soap has lots of chemicals and selsum has lots of chemicals so there can't be much differance. The selsum is only designed for bacteria in wet mosit areas. It is great! Might get the same minty fresh feeling from a tee tree oil soap too!
