That's true, even most female singers have an all-male backing band.

It's kind of unfair, if you think of it...

and of course there are plenty enough girl bands, but most of them I can think of are punk bands, which I'm not really into.

 

And of course the All Girl Summer Fun Band.

 

I had to think about Malle Pietje & the Bimbo's as well, but they didn't really impress me :tongue:. They were fun live though!

 

yeah but you dont SEE them as much which annoys me since they are there... Most people would be hard pressed to name a famous female bass player or drummer etc.

And theres the smashing pumpkins - the new SP and d'arcy from the old... And Megan White from the White Stripes...

Of course! White Stripes is a good one as well. Oh yeah, I forgot the lady of the wonderful Acid King! Damn, I knew I forgot someone important

 

There's also this band called Guano Apes, I think they split up now, I'm not too sure, but they have a female singer. I havent heard them in a LONG time, I remember it was a friend of mine from Finland who lend me a cd and I was ohh this is cool but you might want to check them out.

 

There are TONS of great bands with female singers that are also male-friendly. Throw in some distorted guitars, and guys will probably listen. :$

 

I remember them! Really wellknown here among the (perhaps more alternative) rocklovers. I believe they also had a hit with one song.

I remember I listen to them like 4 years ago, I did like them then, but didnt get much into them, it was like oh, it's fun to listen to, but I cant really remember more than that.

 

Netherlands . I never really was into that kind of music, but I remember most of my friends listened to it.

 

Exactly, I was never into that kind of music, but my friends were, I would go the concerts with them and have a blast but when I was back home, that's not the music I was gonna listen to.

 

Haha, I saw them live at a festival as well for the same reason! I recall that the singer asked for weed to the crowd and at the end of the show someone throw a gram on the stage

Ah ok, yeah I saw lots of alt rock stuff as well, mostly at festivals because friends wanna see it. Ah well, they rarely have a whole day of music I wanna see anyway, so I have no problem with it

Yeah, I remember Guano Apes, cool songs were Open Your Eyes and Lord of the Boards, but don't know more than those cause those were the ones shown on tv.
