"How Full is Your Bucket? Positive Strategies for Work and Life" by Tom Rath and Donald O. Clifton is a great self-help book. It focuses on recognition and the power it has in peoples lives. One of the most important needs that we have is that of appreciation (or significance), and it usually comes from recognition; however, telling people what they do right, including yourself, is not a common practice. The business and political world is focused on what is "wrong" with everyone 90% of the time. This book helps you think about establishing behaviors that contradict the norm and lift others up. In return, you inevitably feel better about yourself! Great book, and it's a short, easy read.
