I agree with the chinese/japanese symbol thing. They're everywhere.

I see a lot of koi...but I like koi. So that's not a bad thing to me.

in here, there is a lot of tattoo's which has written with chinese alphabet, or things like dragons, tribal things...and everybody loves their boyfriends/girlfriends names as tattoos with an another alphabet on their body! i would never do that!

Butterflies, tribal tramp stamps and cartoon characters like Winnie The Pooh... I mean, sure that's fine if it means something to you, but the people round here get them just because 'they're cute!'

When I get my tatt it will be original because it's my fiance's name translated into elvish and then stylised [IMG]

that's it just drawn on in pen to figure out the placement etc!

Yup, this is all too true =D
For guys: Stars, Tribal, Dragons, Chinese Symbols
For girls: Stars, Butterflies, Dolphins, Chinese Symbols

Sure, SOME people may have meaning behind them, but for the majority, it's just the trend.

I've seen the light blue star outline on the same part of girls arms like 50 times.

I have three stars on my wrist, but they do have meanings.

90's tribal, butterflies on the ankle, crappy roses, taz/winnie the pooh/mickey/tweety, kanji...they all drive me nuts.

And what is up with all the unfinished religious tatts? I see unfinished praying hands, rosaries and crosses all the freakin time.

yeah, i hate to see ppl with the same tattoo as everybody else, unless of course its a music group tattoo such as the sublime sun or a bob marley tat, thoses actually have a deeper meaning to most ppl who get them, i want to get the sublime coyfish on the inside of my bicep because sublimes music has gotten me through alot of bad times.

lol i have carpe diem in old english across my back with a nautical star below it, carpe diem is one that ive heard of a few ppl gettin but never seen and i hadn even heard of it before i got mine, id just heard it said all my life by people like my dad and thought it had a good meaning to it, and the nautical star i knew was a big tattoo but i liked the way they look and liked the meaning plus it had a big double meaning to me too so i liked that about it :p and im planning on gettin the same wristband my dad has so that would be gettin the same thing as somebody else but hes the only one ive seen it on and cant even find pics of it anywhere else lol i say its all art no matter what and as long as its got a meaning or story behind it and u want to then its good enough to put on ur body

    Generally music notes.
    Some are really good, though.
For instance, my friend's dad (an apprentice, actually) has small eighth notes on his ears. He did them himself. They're cooooool. :D

I designed all 6 of mine. I don't think I will ever see one even similar. I have finshed the designs on the next 2, I just need some cash. My Right Shoulder tattoo cost $500 and took 9 hours to complete.
