I have been banned from UKHippy by moderator Starpoi following a discussion thread that I implemented on honey eating in the vegan/vegetarian section. Initially she merely threatened to ban me suggesting that my deleted posting had been offensive to another user, Zee. I do not know whether Zee complained to her. He certainly did not object to me. I found Starpoi's high handedness involving a vegan matter particularly difficult to ignore given that she has previously described helping her father slaughter chickens which is nothing special but then subsequently declaring that she would do so again should the need arise. The very point of the counter culture is to initiate change through the demanding of and demonstration of tolerance. My joke at Zee's expense was not malicious and easily balanced his prior remark that somewhat ridiculed my opening gambit around "feeling warm towards bees". Having looked at this site I was interested to generate some discussion around some basic ideas ie consciousness and whether current basic human values reflect something of the original hippy values-base along with what it was and is to see oneself as a hippy or head. I have noticed discussion on other sites around the UKHippy site's proclivity to ban for pettiness and although I do not wish to expend energy contributing to what is ultimately a fruitless discourse, I would need to share my experience should it reflect a similar fate. I am quite happy to apologise to Zee if I offended him and indeed to Starpoi if I have offended her. However, I do not apologise and never will for simply challenging issues that I do not believe are consistent with the growth of humanity towards its own cultural and spiritual perfection even if that causes the need for the odd apology along the way. What I do object to is that word "never," offered with brutal finality. In the word of Marc Bolan "I could have turned you in to a preistess, I could have placed our love in the sky; but it really doesn't matter at all, no it really doesn't matter at all, life's a gas...I hope it's gonna last". This matter cannot remain unresolved and will be dealt with openly and properly, consistently with the simple principles of free speech and counter culture propriety. Your note below notes your right not to respond to issues "previously covered". This matter has not been "covered". You will never ever hear the last of this matter until it is.
