i read this book about four times a year and i can always get insight from this story of a trans-pacific voyage with an adult tiger where pi discovers himself, god, and then finally salvation
martel is a storytelling genius that blends humor, unique characters, and a timeless story

I picked it up. I didn't like it or finish it. It's just not my thing.

I thought the author was showing off too much. Most of the book was Martel showing off how great a writer he was, and tended to get too far away from telling the story of inner discovery that could have made the novel a masterpiece.
