This is certainly not a bevavior limited strictly to Phishheads.

Every band discussed in this forum has it's group of hardcores
that feel their band is the end all be all... :)

Same here. Just turned on to them by a hardcore who fits into the above classification. ;)

    thank you :)

i put the "for me" for a reason. they just do what i like. and i can span all the generations of phish and get so much variety (just as i can with the dead, another of my favorite bands) but my favorite 'phish' is the loop based jams with so much texture and groove....that is the cream for me. i love it all, but when a jam like "waves" from IT takes off to space i am just in love. then they will play a song with tight changes and gorgeous melodies like 'divided sky'.....

    anyway....
a great band out there (haven't heard there last album, heard mix reviews) is GALACTIC....amazing energy....every show i have seen is amazing....

Man everyone has to put someone down. Phish just does it for me and when another band does it I will like them too. Phish is not the only band I like...but it is my favorite. NO Offense. A childish post I know but....come on

MUUUUUULEEEE. Govt mule is just amazing. Although I had never seen phish live, I was quite disapointed that they werent touring anymore and felt somewhat hopeless, but Warren Haynes on the guitar is just as impressive in my opinion. His band is just as good, and backs him up better than anyone I can think of would be able to.
I think part of what would make a band fun to follow (have no experience but this is what id imagine), is all of the people who feel the same way about the music that you do. Mule just needs to have a biiiiiig posse like that to go on the road with em, and theyre be the next.

i really like the Mule. however, i feel like often their sets aren't that different night to night. For instance, night 2 of mule at the filmore this past spring was pretty damn close to his red rocks show last fall imo. There's some set list variation but just the flow seems to stay the same as do the jams. A couple mules a year and I'm content.

i love how you refer to Trey as the "lead singer"...seems funny. but as good as Oysterhead are, and they do kick alot of ass, they are not on tour. and have only written one album and that was 6 years ago....
