i love to draw but i can never seem to focus enough to make something i like, it just doesnt ever flow they way i want. i cant clear/open my mind. i came up with a few good things after i burned. do you have any suggestions. drug related or not.
pot always worked for me....helps me to relax and break things down instead of looking at the whole. whatever you do, dont take any kind of speed or upper....ruins my concentration. Im all over the place. Yes, the pot helps me.
Not advocating mushrooms, but they help me. ;D I also mediate before drawing. It helps me "empty my mind." And sometimes I find doing something new can be really inspiring. This could be as simple as walking to work/school on a different route.
You just gotta have patience. I have the same problem as you though definitely. I need to smoke and draw more, I don't do that often and I'm gonna do it like tomorrow now. Haha. But yeah I think my best works have happened when I just take my time and have patience and already have my idea.. and I just work on it all day or take a lot of breaks. Sadly I don't have enough of those works haha... I'm gonna work on stuff soon though like that!
any event that makes me think and get philosophical inspires me.. i tend to do morbid drawings which reflect pain or helpless hope so if something bad happens around me or to me(emotionally) i tend to draw a complex thing.. that's where i get my inspiration from i tried to draw while being high(dxm) but i couldn't concentrate.. and i have no money to get pot or anything like that..so i'll just keep waiting for events
Creativity flows from everyone. You can dress it up with various substances or go straight. Either way, the flow keeps going. I can't draw free hand, but computers enabled me to overcome that. There are many good draw/paint programs out there. Check the other threads in this forum for some recommendations I've made to others. x
i have the same problem. (mind not willing to focus) so i just let the pencil (or whatever medium is being used) have its way with the canvas. you'll be surprised with what can come out when you’re not trying to create something specific. oh yah, music helps. let the hidden artist escape the deeper parts of your mind.
