As I was getting ready for bed last night, and used the washroom before heading off to bed, I thought that I noticed some "brownish" color after I wiped. I wasn't sure though...thought maybe it was wishful thinking.
This morning, I woke up to much much much more pink blood!!!!!!! yey! Not a big amount to be worried about, but it's definately a LOT more than I had with Lea Lea.
Question, though. I always thought that the mucous plug and bloody show were 2 different things...from what I have been reading this morning, it seems like they kinda just happen together, or that the bloody show is a "part" of the mucous plug, and that some women just loose it so gradually that when there is blood, they don't really notice the mucous. I think I need some clarification here.
Last night I took a birth tincture I picked up from my midwife that contains, among other things, black and blue cohosh, which from what I have heard, works well for putting women into labour. She told me it wouldn't work if I wasn't ready, and all it does is regulate out the hormones to promote labour. So, hopefully things are progressing!!!

heeheehee, I might just have a halloween baby.
I'm waiting for the contractions to start...I have had a bunch of braxton hicks, but they're completely painless and aren't regular. But things are getting more and more uncomfortable. ***fingers crossed*** I have never wanted to be in pain so much in my life! LOL

Halloween/Scorpio babies are the best. :) I was born Nov 1st early am. My poor mom was in labor with me all Halloween. Two years later my brother was born on Halloween. I think its probably the best time of year to be born(we always had really fun Halloween/costume parties)! Is Leanne anxious for her brother to show up? How has she been with it all?

oh boy, Leane has been showing all kindsa different signs.
At first, she didnt really know what was going on, but as my belly got bigger and bigger, we would tell her that there was a baby inside my belly. We would show her one of her baby dolls and say baby, then point to my belly and say baby.
She started to walk up to my belly, blow raspberries and say, "brother."
But now, we say, "there's a baby in mommy's belly" she says, "nawwwww," in a REALLY dramtic way, LOL

She seems pretty excited, though. I lend her some of the baby's clothes for her to dress her dolls in, we bought her a stroller to push her baby around in, i sewed her a sling to carry her baby in, and i gave her a bunch of the baby's daipers and she taught her how to change her baby's bum. She's awesome, i think she's going to be a great helper and a really protective big sis!

LOL, Cody's birthday is actually on the 3rd (happy birthday to you, too BTW ;) ), so we're going to have 2 male scorpios in our house. Oh boy! And I'm a Leo....the 2 signs that are the most incompatable LOL. Poor Leane is a Libra, quiet and fair, and she's stuck in a house with all us stubborn people.
I have been a little "iffy" about having a Halloween baby since I always felt sorry for kids who have their birthdays on hollidays, since they tend to get less attention. Or the holliday is forgotten.

I'll second Earthy Mama's comments. I'm a Halloween baby (30 tomorrow) and it's always been so great being born on Halloween. everyone is always in such a festive mood and ready to have a good time.

I think SOMETIMES they get less attention. I remember we threw parties with the halloween theme a lot. One year we all carved pumpkins, one year we "partied" from the minute we got home from school, then all threw on our costumes to go trick-or-treat. You also get the coolest decorations. My mom used to make me huge spider cupcakes to take to school. It always felt like the holiday was a big party centered on us. We loved it as kids.

Leanne sounds SO ready! Shes a smart girl, shes already to help it sounds like. My boys were a little older than Leanne when Riley was born but they couldn't really comprehend the whole baby thing until it was a reality. Their favorite thing to do was get all the stuff mommy needed which sounds just like what Leanne is doing. BTW Croix is the best helper in the world AND a libra just like Leanne(your lucky!). :)

That sounds like a bunch of fun actually. I guess you could really turn it around so that things are a little more centered on them :)

i was wondering...is it normal to completely loose your appetite? I remember I still was able to eat quite well when I was in labour with leane (I think anyway), but I could barely finish a bowl of KD right now, and I am usually a KD feind!!! I just feel weird...

    IGNORE IT!

Go for a walk, go out to dinner and a movie with your man (find a sitter for Leanne), take a hot bath, get a pedicure, go trick ot treating, do anything just IGNORE IT!

If you need to sleep, drink a half glass of red wine, it will relax you and let you rest.
Don't wear yourself out thinking about when it's going to start, I guarantee you won't miss your baby's birth!;)

one of my midwives told me the same thing yesterday, lol. it's just so hard to relax.
However, I did find out some crappy news. Apparently he's no where near engaged and hasn't really dropped at all. last week one of the midwives told me to ask about having the membranes swept this week, and when the other midwife went to do it, she said that she could barely get in there because he was so high. She also told me that my cervix was still right thick and barely a "finger tip" dilated. She said that she got about 40% of the membranes swept on the left side and 60% on the right, but that it's probably not going to do anything....and that labour still looked really far off for me.
This just kinda really sucks. 5 more days, and if my cervix hasn't changed and the pitocin doesn't work, I'm transfered back to my old OB in the city. :(
Sunday we're supposed to go in to get the cervadil gel, but again, they told me it's not really going to do anything since I'm still too thick.

(((((((((hugs!!!))))))))) He'll come out. He CAN'T stay in there forever! I know a few mamas that have gone from "not gonna happen in awhile" to having their baby in a day... so it DOES happen!
    love,
    mom

Honestly, all this means nothing much in the greater scheme of things, I;ve seen ladies go from thick, closed and posterior to baby OUT in 4 hours. I've also seen ladies walk around dilated 4 or 5 cm for WEEKS.

But lemme ask, do think there's a chance your due date is off?

I thought about the dates thing, too. So did everyone else, lol
I had an ultrasound done at 16 weeks and that was when they told me that my due date was October 28th. From the dates that I had guessed from my last period (that I couldn't remember for the life of me) still gave me a due date of Nov 1st. So, I have been going by the 28th one, which everything has seemed to be on par with measurement-wise and everything.
The head nurse told me the same kinda thing yesterday, that it could all change in a matter of hours. It was just discouraging when the midwife told me that i still look like I have a long ways to go and that labour looked really far off.

    ...still nothin.
This morning Cody called the nursing station at the hospital to ask about the cervadil, and I found out that I should be seeing the midwives every couple days. The labour and delivery nurse asked what the midwives had told me to do and when my next appointment was....but the midwife I spoke to a few days ago told me not to make any more appointments. I'm confused now. So, I haven't spoken to anyone in the last few days and I don't know what's going on.
I found that sheet they gave me talking about their protocol for women who go overdue and it was saying that I'm supposed to be seen every 2 days and that at a week overdue, I need to have a biophysical profile of the baby done. Every time I have asked about this, they just kinda ignore it and tell me not to bother. I'm worried now...I don't know what to do!
