Evolution 101 for people that have the wrong ideas about it

the main principles are....

for one natural selection and adaptation

for example- (and what about this cant fundamentalist christians understand????)-

example.... let's say there are a group of birds.... (finches, like darwin studied)- the ones with the beaks that could better get food.... LIVED LONGER, therefore, they survived and finches eventually (through a long long time... i mean LOOONG)- got those beaks

now, this could applie to humans or any other group. the term is natural selection aka nature selects and through time people or other animals die out that cant survive. the best traits for survival go on....

NOW, NEW TRAITS.... sometimes there is something called a genetic mutation (which when cells duplicate, which they do all the time, things can go wrong and thus, new traits get into the gene pool, thus... they get passed on)

i could go on with that but i wont, but no one is saying we were once monkeys but there was a COMMON ANCESTOR....

i cant stand how fundamentalist christians think science cant be trusted but religion can *snorts*

sorry.... like i said, i love jesus but im not a christian. i have faith and spritually but not religion. but i dont see why hard-core christains look at evolution and science like it's trying to "take any from their religion"

Actually there was a "scientist" I can't remember his name, but he came before Darwin and made all the Christians mad. He said that when an ape died it came back as a human, and when a human died it became and angel. The whole monkey business was just attached to Darwin's name because they never studied the different evolutionist theories. And if they did they thought that Darwin was the one that came up with all of them. READ people!
