a complete MJ growing N00B: my grow attempt

isn't a ballast something that u put light bulbs on to give the light bulbs power?
i just bought 2 6Lbags of potting mix, a 6L bag of germination soil, some small pots, a tray to put the small pots on, a extension cord and another lamp( i have been calling these lamps ballasts). i smash the outer casing of the lamps(its made of china, so easy to smash), and i end up with a single cord that plugs into the wall, with the thing that the light goes on at the end. i am going to replace my old lamp cord with the new one that i got today(because the old one has this big golden steel thing on the cord, and its got a big extra bit on it because it is a touch lamp. the new one will be alot easier to raise/lower). i have 12 Hawiian BC X Wildberry seeds(im not quite sure what Hawiian BC is, but i think it might be Hawiian Big Bud. it said BC on the little piece of paper in the packet, but that might be a wryto(just like a typo, but written, not typed). im going to fill the small pots with germination soil, then plant some seeds in them.

 

For cfls/mh/hps they need a ballast to fire up and run. A regular light bulb just screws into the socket, plug into the wall and Bob'syour uncle!

For ~$8 you can get a worklight reflector that comes with a clamp (hardware store). Screw the cfl into there.

hey guys,
here is what has been happening in the last 4 months:
the seeds germinated, they were going alright.
i got busted by my parents.
but it was all good, cause they didn't really give a shit
i had to take the plants out of the cupboard(mums orders)
i put the plants outside(i think my parents thought that i got rid of them)
they had shit-all light, and only 1 of them was growing
so i pulled out all the plants that werent growing good
I had 1 plant outdoors
it was going alright, but it wasn't getting enought light
it got really stretchy, and some fucking animal ate a bit of the top
the stem was really weak
so i just pulled it out and smoked the leaves(with other weed)
I germinated 3 seedlings outside about 1 month and 3 weeks ago
I put them in a good spot where they get heaps of sunlight
2 of them died because i didn't water them for a week(they where the two weaker ones)
in 1 month the plant that i had started to flower(ITS A FEMALE)
its been flowering 4 a few weeks now
i am now preparing my cupboard 4 an indoor grow(i am going to start a journal on that grow once i set it up fully)

time for an update:
i harvested my plant. got about a qaurter-ounce. not bad for a winter-plant(i don't get frost where i live)
my parents saw some light coming out of my cupboard late at night and i got busted for my indoor grow(just before the seeds germinated
i got busted in possession of weed at school
i said it was for personal use
i denied dealing
they got some people to testifie that i was dealing
i got expelled until next year
i got cautioned by tha cops
i had to go to this rehab thing
at that point shit was bad
its getting alot better now tho

I am starting an outdoor grow with my brother tomorrow morning(he is 10)
i got 21 seeds, we are going to have 9 seeds each and we
are going to have a crop each at a really good spot that i found just off tha beach
we are going to plant the other 3 seeds at my old grow-spot
as a back-up crop
we are going to dig holes in the ground and fill them with potting soil

This is ridiculous......you got in all that trouble, and now your going to go try again....with a 10yr old child??? Shit your still a child......find a better hobby until you get older. And don't go getting your 10yr old brother involved in something that will be considered a felony. I can see it now, 2 brothers ages 13 and 10, were busted yesterday during a mj grow-op bust.

the BIG reason im bitching is because when i was 13 i was running track, cross country, racing BMX, and playing soccer. Had no ambition to drink alcohol or smoke anything......you could say i was "high" on life. Granted, i started drinking when i was 15, but did not start smoking cigs or MJ until i was 18.

It doesn't matter how "mature" you are. The fact still remains that you have already been in trouble and rehab for this......your heading down the wrong street my man.

Fuck man your 13, sorry to sware, but THATS MESSED UP! Getting your 10 yr old brother involved, but I must admit, for 13, you seem to have some knowledge of what your doing, but dont get busted!!! Be as careful as can be, it never hurts to be cautious, if your dealing, set some ground rules to your customers, and only sell to good friends if you have to, it takes longer to profit, but you can garentee your not going to get caught. And if you sell people weed, make it seem like your not a dealer, but your always available for "small counts" type of thing, like for me, I pass it off as I dont deal, I just grab in big amounts, but will sell some for "bus money" or what ever, and I tell them I always got extra, so if you need it and your buddys are dry, try giving me a call type of thing.
That way other stupid kids if asked to testify, will say oh he only sold me a 5 peice cause he needed it for bus, or something stupid but it will keep you out of shit, don't go around giving yourself a big reputation, I mean you can push alot of weed, but you get busted faster. Unlike you though, I live in a much better area, cops will "WARN" you not caution or charge, take your weed, and say their throwing it out so that you dont get in trouble, mean while their smoking it driving away in their car... Ya, they've busted me, and told me that their going to smoke it, 2 grams, and I asked if they got drug tested, unfortunatly he said not alot, but that means I didn't get in shit, and wont get in shit any time soon.
Try talking to local cops alot, and giving yourself a good name in their book, I'm a night hawk, so I use to get pulled over on a regular basis cause I'd be out at 2-3am, and they never search me any more, they know i smoke weed on occasion, and dont care, but if I am caring a half ounce or more on me, I will normaly not risk getting searched, hand them a joint, say thats all I have, and because they know me, they normaly take it, and drive away, or I even get them to give me a ride to where i need to make a chop. And thats all cause they know me as an honest guy, if i hand them a joint, they wont bust me, and wont check to see if I got more on me, and I mean alot more. Hehe, I got them to drive me to a 100$ chop once Thank god for stupid police men.

Sounds like you have problems germinating or with the seeds you are using.
You need "BROWN" seeds, I know the white-ish green seeds look full of life, but their not, their pre-mature, dead, what ever.
Best way to germinate a seed that I've experienced, is to make sure your room is warm, 20-26 degrees C, then get a peice of paper towel, stick the seed or seeds in it, fold it up, and spray it down with water, stick it in an air tight zip-lock bag, and leave it their for abour 48 hours too 4 days.
Seeds that you need to struggle to keep alive normaly grow good shit, but is too much effort, so I would rather use a seed that grows with ease and is almost impossible to kill as long as you water it and provide it light, you should be good.
Check your seed every 24 hours, once the seed sprouts about an inch and a half, plant it in soil, sprout pointed down, seed pointed up.
Do not provide light until you see some green leafs coming out the top of the soil.
Within 5 days, I got my seed from seed, to a 3 inch plant out of the soil, so I hope mine works out well.

And I hope the information im giving you is good too.

Btw, pre-mature seeds do some times grow, but it is still a 90% chance that their already dead... So just throw them away, save the brown seeds, I have only had 1, but because I know what im doing it germinated and got planted properly.

Hey man, the way I germinated the seed for my last plant was i got like 8 sections of paper towels and put 4 on the bottom of the seed and 4 on top and soaked them in water then set them on a window sill, end of day 2 it was germinated and i planted it, i ended up with a 17in. tall beauty in my homemade super stealth grow box, here's a pic of it. Its just a gutted out CPU server tower case.







Also it should be noted though that my parents and only sister living in the house don't know crap about computers so wouldnt venture to open one for the hell of it, part of the stealth.
