Alright here's the deal. If you're reading this and have any suggestions, I'd greatly appreciate it. So I have a steamroller pipe. I thought it would be a good idea to put it in the dishwasher. It came out, pretty clean, but I hit it and it tastes like dishwasher soap. So this girl told me to let in soak in some hot water, so I did that for a few hours, but the soapy taste is still there. Does anyone have any ideas? THANKS IN ADVANCE.
ummmm.... come on think a little. cleaning pipes is easy if theres still anything in it just keep running hot water through it. if its a steam roller its probably alot easier to clean then a regular pipe. just run hot water through it from a sink and use something to wipe it out. if its glass you can put it into some rubbing alcohol but i wouldnt reccommend it with plastic.
a dishwasher? gross....you shouldnt try to clean a pipe with dishsoap.... anyway, so long as the pipe looks clean, all it will take to remove the residual detergent is water, as the detergent dissolves in water. soak it in a big sink of clean, hot water for a while, and wipe out the bowl and rinse it well. i bet it will work. you'll want to wipe out the bowl with a little rubbing alcohol to remove the resin you've gotten on it since you cleaned it. hope it works, certainly sounds reasonable to me.
only thing is alcohol costs money, and dish detergent is water soluble, so you might as well just soak it in water. maybe it takes a couple soaks, but theres no reason it shouldnt work, i'd think. i dunno. but its a lot cheaper than buying a bottle of alcohol just to clean a bowl. course it depends on if you have the money to spend on it....alcohols not expensive, i just couldnt justify the expense simply to clean my bowls right now.
i thought maybe it was one of them acrylic steam rollers. thats why i didnt recommend alcohol. if it is one of the plastic ones and it was still ok after the dish washer then alcohol might not fuck it up. i would never use a dishwasher even if i had one LOL to clean my pipes. i would just use some cue tips and some hot water and maybe some alcohol as a last resort. hope you get it cleaned out good luck man...
Sigh. Here is the SURE FIRE WAY TO CLEANING ANY PIPE 1. Soak it in alcohol for 30 odd minutes 2. Go to a headshop. bust out your savings account and buy a 10 cent pipe cleaner with metal edges (they have them, all headshops do). 3. Take pipe out of alcohol and run the pipe cleaner through it. The metal edges will remove the resin.
swazo.. same fuckin advice I gave but instead of lettin the alcohol do the work you wanna use the pipe cleaner? pf.. go for it
with metal edges? it scrapes the res out. you'll see, use a pipe cleaner and see the shit that comes out.
don't get the alcohol from the drugstore. Get it from the *hardware* store. It's much purer. If you soak your pipes in it you will see within 10 seconds the goop begin to dissolve. If you just leave it for a couple of hours, you get this black pool. works real good.
Im assuming that after the "dishwasher cycle", it got most the resin out as that shit runs hotter than hell. To get the soapy taste out take nesta's advice, just sit it under a running faucet with hot water for a good amount of time. The soap will wash away and eventually clean everything out, unwanted taste wise. Pretty much just let the HOT faucet water run straight through it for a good amount of time.....periodically check, taking "ghost" hits on the bowl to see if there is any soapy taste left....do this until there is no soapy taste left and your golden. There is no reason to use rubbing alcohol if it's clean already.....just need to rinse that nasty taste out.
or if you want to use a pipe-cleaner, but don't have a headshop within range. Go to your local gunshop and they have the same thing, but it's used to cleaning gun barrels. Just ask the guy, and say you have a .22 your grandpa gave you or something.
