I was wondering when you start to bring your kiddos door to door trick or treating? My kids are only 4 and 2 and last night I was feeling a bit guilty They went to a kids Halloween party on Sunday, got to dress up and eat candy ... and they are going on a trip to see all their great Aunts this weekend for a mini-halloween. I do live 10 miles from civilization so this is not that easy for us lol...but when I went into town last night and saw all the kids~ I felt kinda lousy. Just curious
We had kids at our church last night from about 18 months old to well into their 20s. It began with our church-kids, but once it got dark out we had a TON (I'm guessing around 250-300) of kiddies show up. It looked like parents had sent them inside to get them off the streets... which is really what we were hoping for in THAT neighborhood! The average age for the littles seemed to be between 3 & 12 though... so I'm guessing that's about "normal." love, mom
We dressed Manny up last night, and my husband and him went into town to my parent's house. Manny loved seeing all the other kids dressed up! We did take him to a couple houses of family friends, but no "door-to-door" stuff. That we will wait at LEAST another year for. Wait until he knows whats going on and can say "trick or treat" and all that other stuff. At his age (14 months) I won't let him eat the candy anyway. I mean, its mostly chocolate bars, both with and without nuts... but even the ones without nuts could contain nuts or have some sort of cross-contamination with nuts. Our family has a lot of food allergies, so I am not taking chances... no nuts for Manny until he is 2.
we took leane out to a few houses around my mom's place, and she just turned 2 about a month ago. She was able to run up to the houses and yell "tweeeeeeeeet!!!" and hold out her bucket. Then she would say, "thank you," and then, "bye," and run off to the next house. It was the cutest thing, lol! I saw some people out with really little babies, which didn't make all that much sense...most of them were 6-11 year olds, and of course, you had all the groups of teenagers who didn't even dress up trick or treating. Beh, those kids bug me.
I took my son who just turned 2 two weeks ago, he dressed up as an Elmo and we covered at least 10 blocks. He had a lot of fun and was very happy
