after 17 years the 1/4 o 1/2 inch near my roots are not tight..thats natural as your hair grows

Root rubbing helps. But your always gonna have loose hair at your roots..

see, i have the opposite problem. my roots and the first four or five inches of my hair are tight, tight, tight. the ends are all loose and undreaded.

both of us need to just be patient, i think. ;)

    most likely.

I'm just having a shitty day overall, so my loose (some extra loose) roots combined with extreme dandruff and a shitty attitude are making me very unsavory at the moment.

I was using the tea trea oil soap and it wasn't helping much. I switched over to the peppermint and added a little aloe vera and that seems to be helping a bit. I just wish I wasn't in a constant state of picking flakes out of my dreads.
