Any tips on gypsy life on the road without a car i.e. how to get money without selling drugs, cool places to stay. i'm gonna go cross country next year. i'd like to know what to expect where, hitchin a ride with strangers, makin the show, what to pack. is train hopping advisable?
I've never been to the americas and in the UK its extremely difficult to train hop without getting caught and thrown off at the next stop, but I think you should train hop. Its sounds like great fun, trawling across the face of the nation, scenery going past at a perfect pace. Sunrise to sunset... do it
It seems that the very first step of entering what you call gypsy life is to let go expectations, and just do it ... experience takes you beyond ... not the expectations. Life may be transient as you say, but it is real nonetheless.
I have heard stories about the train hopping thing being very dangerous. Ive heard that many of the people who do train hopping are mean, violent psychopaths. I would be careful if you choose this method of transportation. The thumb would be safer in my opinion
