the thing is, i've never made any jewelry on my own, but i'd really love to now. however, i have no clue where to start, or what to buy, or how to go about in doing this at all. does anyone have any help to offer?

i would go to about.com and check out their great jewelry tutorials and patterns.

also, lots of craft stores (hobby lobby, etc) have these little pattern sheets in the aisle with the beads and stuff that explain how to do a lot of things.
check your local library for some how-to books as well.
good luck with your crafting!! :)

First off, I'm very excited for you. You are going to love beading! Go to Micheal's, Hobby Lobby, a bead store, whatever, and buy a good bead book (about $10). It will tell you all you need to know. Or you can take beading classes. Tip- don't mix wire with glass beads. The glass will cut the wire. I don't do hemp, or earings, but I do everything else. If you have any specific questions, pm me and I'd be happy to help. Good luck. Peace
