yesterday I didn't go because I slept to late and today I just don't want to go. I hate going to class. My lit teacher says if we miss more than three our grade will be docked by 2 percent each class we miss-which is utterly ridiculous. I am pefectley capable of reading the material showing up for tests and getting an A. It is a 100 level course and I have already taken lit 435 so I really don't need a review on shit I read when I was in high school english. It pisses me off to be treated like a child and told I need to be somewhere to learn stuff that should be common knowledge. The first week of class I missed oe of her lectures because I was speaking at a conference and she told me that my priorities were wrong. Hmmm lets see freshman level english when I already have a BA or spreading the word about something important...hard decision right? Anyway this has turned into a rant so sorry, but back to the question-how much class do you miss, or did you miss?
I once missed all my classes after the first because I was playing hackey sack in the quad, I failed to notice that everyone else came and went, you know only playing between classes. there was always someone there to play with so I was oblivious to what I was doing there. I was told I had to take a semester off before I could come back, my GPA was way too low (go figure). I have never been back to college. I left on Dead Tour a month later, came back to large bills and lawyers so I been working full time ever since.
In high school I would miss class all the time because we would go across the street to the park drink and play hacky sack-the time does escape you. I feel ya.
My first semester in College, I missed every class between the quizes ( once a month) and the exams in my astronomy class. never once opened my text book. in fact I returned it for a refund before the last day I could get full price. I got a b.....they told us the same shit about 2% detracted for missing classes.
i too had a problem finding my way to class, kinda sucks for me because the people i attended college with are all corp. now.........i'm just little ol' me,in any event,i think if you have to pay for school,it should be up to you if you sleep in or show up.all in all..........you picked college because this was where you wanted to be......getter' done.....best of luck!
yeah, I am in the Navy and they are mostly all my friends are very successsful....well except for most the musicians, is 11 years later and they still are working odd jobs til their bands take off.
i'm a nerd.... i generally did not skip any class when i was in both regular school and college..... plus...a lot of the classes i took in college were art classes so i enjoyed spending time in the studio working on different stuff..... its official though...i am a nerd
exactly last spring semester all my classes were night classes so they were linient on attendance I got a b+ and 2 a's and went to class about 50 percent of the time. My only teacher who is strict on attendence is the lit teacher and it is the one class I hate. It is filled with 18 and 19 year olds. Plus it is across campus so it is like a 20 minute walk and I am lazy. I am never taking a day class again, I say this every semester though.
maybe you could check your ins. plan to see if you could get a mobile device,no....kidding,really though....at least you are making the effort to go to school....i bet when your all grown up,you'll look back at this and wonder.............
well the thing is that I have already graduated but my gpa is not high enough to get in a decent grad school for an mba so I have to go back and do a second major to raise my gpa. So I have kinda been there done that and now have to do it againa nd IT SUCKS so bad. I like all my classes except for this lit one.
I made all my art classes, and religion and music classes, everything else was hit or miss, if I did go I was high, and if it was an 8:00 class, I went on the day of the test, I did well too on those. I was king of missing the entire semester and cramming or writing a 15 page paper at the end of the year and getting a B.
